WADS based on real life places?

Is there any? I am familiar with School WAD concepts, but are there others?

I recently reviewed a wad called STONEHENGE (yes, all caps) that resembled, well, the Stonehenge. There are alot of pyramids (eg AV, MAP20) and many city maps. There are alot of military bases floating around, if that's what you mean in "real life places."


Oh, and helipads. Lots and lots of helipads.

Curtin University computer science building, a Bunnings store somewhere in West Australia, Circus Maximus in Rome, Institut d'Informatique d'Entreprise and the Atari corporate offices are some that spring to mind.

EDIT - nearly forgot the Ziff-Davis editorial offices.

there's always the classic 'My House" wads, do those count?

Another one is Trinity College.

And schools, those are fun to browse through.

There's a couple of maps based on laser tag sites, map 02 of Nitelife and map 17 of Fragport. (map 32 of the same wad is based on a TV gameshow, so you could say it was based on it's studio which was a real-life place)

This particular SUBWAY is based on part of the Washington, DC Metro System, according to Ziring's homepage.
