Fellow DOOMers

Well, I feel as though I must introduce myself.

DOOM is a classic game to all of us, or at least I would hope so. Otherwise, why become a member of any site related to the game?

I'd make a long, boring, introduction if I wanted to, but it's late and I'm tired right now. It's past midnight over where I'm at, and school starts EARLY for me in the morning.

Regardless of any way you like to treat "newbies", I'll try to feel welcome here (not to sound mushy, gay, or happy)

Read the FAQ or whatever so your ass doesn't get tossed out, because we don't want that to happen, you seem to have your shit together.

It may be a bit confusing at first but this is actually DOOM slang for "Wow, you're so cool, I wish I could be more like you!"

here's some basic doomworld tips

-don't piss of Linguica or any of the moderators.

-never spell "Lüt" without the umlaut

-don't break the forum software

-don't make blank subjects :P

-worship Tool

-don't spam

-don't make G0at$e refrences

that's about it.

You forgot

-don't ask for/post links to warez (which includes abandonwarez), pornography, sick pictures, cracks or product serial numbers

-you MAY use images, but read the rules regarding image tags

-you should read the faq on VB code tags

-you should not flame people and be a general asshole all the time. Flaming once and a while is fine (though the moderators and the administrator may not agree), but if you do flame somebody, you should include a :P to show you are joking around. If you a dick to everyone, you will probably not be able to post here

-the FAQ may contain answers to other questions you may have

-if you have any major problems you should e-mail Linguica, the webmaster and explain your problem.

-make sure your post is in the appropriate forum, such as if you have an editing question, put it in the editing forum

-if you discover a forum bug, do not exploite it, instead, report it to Linguica

Yeah I'm sure he can't wait to get floods of emails like "why don't html work in my posts!?" or "how come everytime i reply it makes a new thread?"

FYI (short for For Your Information): small symbols like :) , ;) or :P
are smilies and often means that the text behind them is a joke and shouldn't be taken serious - some people (including myself) actually forget to "mark" their jokes that way, just so you know.
