Every time I hear Italian prog, it's fifteen minutes of meandering from one riff to another. Of course, there's competent playing throughout - but there's absolutely no sense of composition. 0 Share this post Link to post
glenzinho Posted November 29, 2012 Search for Mike Patton Mondo Cane. You can find lots of you tube videos of Mike performing his Mondo Cane set live. For just general Italian music, check out Renato Russo "Equilibrio Distante." 0 Share this post Link to post

Shaikoten Posted November 30, 2012 Here's a concert of Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Etc) and the Metropole Orchestra doing Italian pop covers from the 50s and 60s. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomUK Posted November 30, 2012 There's something slightly surreal about that video. 0 Share this post Link to post

When Mr. Patton is not voicing zombies for video games and jamming out in his metal sideprojects with people from bands like Slayer, apparently he likes hanging out with respectable musicians! Seriously though, this project is super well done, the orchestra makes some of this stuff sound angelic, and probably better than some of their originals. Though I do confess to not exactly being a connoisseur of Italian pop half a century or more old. 0 Share this post Link to post
