General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 18, 2012 So I'm gonna start a playthrough of all the megawads that have been released here, however I'm gonna need a list of all of them ordered by date uploaded. Would someone be willing to make this list for me? As soon as the list is here, I'll begin. Here's a link to the demos thread: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-speed-demos/62626-the-generals-megawad-playthrough-demos/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted December 18, 2012 :O Good luck with that! First megaWAD ever (that I'm aware of) was Enjay Doom (Come Out Fighting was the first ever full episode released, from what I've heard), so that'll probably have to be your starting point. Although it is also morphed into Enjay Doom 2 and later Enjay ZDoom 2001, so might be worth just picking your poison there. 0 Share this post Link to post
Pure Hellspawn Posted December 18, 2012 to be honest, a sort feature would be a very nice implementation for IDGames. In addition, there are a couple of megawads (meaning 32+ levels) that aren't in the megawads folders. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks for this, but I happen to know that's not all of them. You're missing everything Doom 1, a bunch from this year, and probably more doom 2 ones. Oh btw, I will put an accompanying demo thread in the demos forum for this. 0 Share this post Link to post
NaturalTvventy Posted December 19, 2012 Define Megawad. 32/36 levels, or beyond a certain amount? 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 19, 2012 Sorry, 15 levels + is a megawad according to the wiki, so those are the ones I'll be playing. E: I'll consider complete episodes for Ultimate Doom as well. 0 Share this post Link to post
NaturalTvventy Posted December 19, 2012 Well this sounds like something worth getting behind. If no one else does I'll volunteer to get make a list of all the DOOM (1) megawads for ya tonight. That's part of it at least. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 19, 2012 Cool, thanx. I already started my playthrough of njdoom2.wad, go check it out everyone. It's long though. 0 Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted December 19, 2012 This reminds me, what ever happened to the Doomworld megawad club? 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 19, 2012 I put the demo thread in the demos forum. @Essel: Not sure. I guess people lost interest. 0 Share this post Link to post
elic Posted December 19, 2012 Good luck. I'm not sure how anyone can get through that list BloodyAcid posted... Actually, even that list is far from complete: I can think of a ton of megawads that aren't on there (MM, MM2, Eternal Doom, Strain, HELL in HELL, zpack, Twilight Zone 2, everything from 2012, etc.) 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 19, 2012 Yeah, I know. I'm hoping to get a more complete list. 0 Share this post Link to post
Acid Posted December 19, 2012 You're missing everything Doom 1, a bunch from this year, and probably more doom 2 ones. I forget to mention Doom 2 only, pasted from the start of DW Megawad club, and yes, more Doom 2 ones (like CC4, BTSX etc etc) 0 Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted December 19, 2012 Megawads I've made or been involved with: Drown in Blood (2006) Chip's Doom Challenge (2008) Time Of Maps - Part 1 (2009) Eternal Memories 1 (2010) Slaughterfest 2011 (2012) Expired License (2012) 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 24, 2012 What should I play through next guys? I finished njdoom2.wad 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted December 24, 2012 Phobus said:Come Out Fighting was the first ever full episode released, from what I've heardI'm a little late to this discussion (having been away from home), but I think that honour may actually fall to Knee-Deep in the DEU (kneedeep.wad inside the zip). There may well have been earlier versions that the one included with DEU 5.21. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 25, 2012 Could someone post a comprehensive list of the doom/doom2 megawads in order of date for me? Next I will do that short episode Grazza mentioned next then maybe Cleimos 2. I'd like to play them in order of creation. -GRB 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 25, 2012 Anyone know of any other megawads from '94? 0 Share this post Link to post
NaturalTvventy Posted December 29, 2012 All the obvious megawads I could find. In xls and txt format, sorted by date. I am sure there are plenty more out there. For example, my '97 2-episode megawad is filed as if it were less than 15 maps. This list represents those filed under megawads, and a few others (filed under themes, etc). My WAD made the list too somehow :) https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B9n9YNu8ulsmb2pXeEpkT1pTOWc https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B9n9YNu8ulsmOXV1Q1V2ZEZoWlk Good luck. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 29, 2012 Cool. Thank you for this. If you find more, just let me know. I'll look too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Devalaous Posted December 29, 2012 The first megawad I ever played seems absent from this page, Vilecore. Its on the archives. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 29, 2012 No it's there, check 2003. E: In NaturalTvventy's list. 0 Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted December 31, 2012 No Cleimos2.wad anywhere? I seemed to delete my cleimos 2 by accident and when I went to redownload it, there's no wad file in the zips. 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted December 31, 2012 You can get the *.wad file here (in the "fixed" folder) - http://doomedsda.us/lmps/323/cleim20.zip 0 Share this post Link to post
