mustafa saed Posted May 3, 2002 Does anyone know any doom utility that allows you to play custom wads without the typical MSDOS:doom -file mywad.wad? 0 Share this post Link to post
Lobo Posted May 3, 2002 Yes, you could use a windows shortcut. Right click doom.exe, choose make shortcut. Right click this shortcut and go into properties. Go into program and then in the command linebox you'll see something like this:D:\JUEGOS\DOOM\DOOM2.EXE just add -file mywad.wad at the end of this line! Now whenever you double click this shortcut , doom will start up with the wad you have specified. 0 Share this post Link to post
læmænt Posted May 3, 2002 Just wait for kE to post. Anyway, MSDOS prompt sucks... Solution: GNU Bash! 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted May 3, 2002 Uh, you could use a source port of some kind. 0 Share this post Link to post
pickle965 Posted May 3, 2002 Get JDoom, the Kicks front-end lets you load as many PWADs you want and plus you get the cool JDoom features. 0 Share this post Link to post
Searcher Posted May 3, 2002 You can check out some of the many frontends available for free download here at doomworld. Read through the text files and info to see if one of them might work for you. 0 Share this post Link to post
magikal Posted May 4, 2002 The front end with Legacy is the easiest I've used, although many people seem to have problems,I've never had one. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doom II Guy Posted May 6, 2002 Legacy is probably the easiest and most organized. However, I am just starting to use JDoom and I think it's pretty awesome too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom II Guy Posted May 6, 2002 Oh, one more thing. If you have a slow computer, you should probably use Legacy. I've heard old computers cannot run JDoom. 0 Share this post Link to post

My computers not even that old and it still has trouble running JDoom at the absolete lowest detail level (with MD2 models). I think its time for a new comp (ex. AMD XP2100+, Geforce 4 Ti4600). 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom II Guy Posted May 7, 2002 Does anyone here have a really fast computer and has JDoom show no slowdown? 0 Share this post Link to post
Kaiser Posted May 8, 2002 start a new text document "your port name" -file "yourwadname" and save it as "loadwad.bat" 2x click it while its in the exe dir of the port you want to run. 0 Share this post Link to post
