NerdKoopa Posted February 25, 2013 After that pushable table test I got a bit voxel crazy, so I decided to put my newly learned voxel modeling skills to the test. So, I built an entire voxel car! My ultimate goal is to eventually make an entire pack of voxel vehicles for everyone to use. This is where it all starts. Now for some screenshots I used the Chevrolet Impala 1964 and 1966 models as my source of inspiration. For those who want to see it in game, the test WAD is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?70k2g0wja4kx5wt I think a moving version is possible too, but I need to do more studying on that matter. PS: I know that only the middle section of this thing is solid, but I can't fix that. 0 Share this post Link to post
PRIMEVAL Posted February 25, 2013 This will come in handy with a lot of City themed maps! Very nice :) 0 Share this post Link to post

Egregor Posted February 25, 2013 You should join the Doom Voxel Project! Your quite good and they need some new blood. If this project is completed in 2013 it could take this year's best mod. http://teamhellspawn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=37 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted February 26, 2013 Would probably be good for that Manhattan Project that came around a little while ago. It looks like a sprite but behaves like a true 3d object when you walk around it. So... would it be possible to make non-static monsters like this? And armor helmets? And trees? 0 Share this post Link to post
Pottus Posted February 26, 2013 Interesting, It doesn't look the greatest up close but for scenery at a fair distance it really smooths everything out. 0 Share this post Link to post
Unholypimpin Posted February 26, 2013 would be awesome if you made all the monster death states with voxels =D 0 Share this post Link to post

Yeah, the same problem exists with any actor that is not square in appearance. MD2/MD3 models often show such problems too. It's easy enough to give the model some fake collision by a few different mapping methods though (eg placing bridge objects where the actor's own shape doesn't block movement). 0 Share this post Link to post
