The Love song of the Marine's wife

Wow I just looked in here for the first time in ages. DSM really has done miracles for this forum, nice work my friend.

Heh, my exams are nearly over, 29th May. Then I can write more. I'll finish Service 18 then. Here's a quick poem for now.

The Love song of the Marine's wife.

Cold is the barrel that rests on you
Screams are the passion that pull you through
Night is the fire that lights your eyes
I am the hope that keeps you alive.

Mucking and digging is all that's there
Hell's work is done and Heaven despairs
Yours is a fight that is truly eternal
Always ominously nocturnal.

Cold is the barrel that lays rest to you
Screams are the passion and now you scream too
Night is the fire that dies with your eyes
Ours is the love destroyed and denied.

I'm afraid I don't have any constructive criticism to give you in regards to your poem as I'm not particularly interested in poems in general, but it looks ok to me.
