What happened to doom3world.org?

Whenver I try to go to doom3world.org, it is stuck connecting. It did that a long time ago too and I haven't tried it again until now.

Are they gone or something?

I'm getting the exact same problem. Confirmed website is down: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/doom3world.org

No idea why.

I hope they will re-open the forum sooner or later. It was the leading board for the Doom3 editing community.

Domain name is available for the taking again. I guess that means the site is dead for good.

You can still browse the old topics trough a old archive.org snapshot.

Just to let people know, Doom3World isn't down and out, just down temporally:

Here's the e-mail I recived from it's webmaster:

I hope I'll be able to obtain all D3W files back early next week so they can run a fresh install with hardened security. You may want to spread the word about it. All user passwords were stored encrypted. Just in case it's always good to change them after a server breach.

Wow that is a damn shame. In my teenage days I became obsessed with modding for Doom 3 but realized quickly I didn't have the perquisite skills for it, beyond making a basic level with zombies, imps, and guns.

Still, Doom3world.org was a resource FAR beyond repute.
