Google Exec case - sugar daddy killed by escort who injected heroin

I think American society is poisoned by this kind of thinking. Sugar daddies and the concept of power and status is far too mainstream these days.

people should be with each other because they like each other for who they are as a PERSON and not for their money and status.

thoughts about this?

Either she commited murder, or he overdose. Why is prostitution the main topic?

probably because that's what this case is known for: a high profile executive guy in his 50s paying thousands for a 26 year old girl. if this wasn't the case, this would be local news if that.

EDIT: This case relates to the Elliot Spitzer scandal back in 2008 except that Dupre did not kill Spitzer.

This guy was on a complete power trip and his fetish was being fed drugs by unfamiliar escorts (male/female). It doesn't matter if they had intercourse it seems obvious he wanted to go on a crazy trip and his escort wanted to provide it.

That or his taste in "escorts" just sucked. She looks more like 36 and those tats just complete the crack whore look.

No, people should do whatever they know to bring them happiness, as long as they aren't hurting others. If someone out there wants to pork prostitutes or mail order brides then who the heck cares? It's not affecting your life in any way, shape or form.

Well there is concern about indulging in that business supporting the sex slave trade, black market, and whatnot - but really, that's simply more motivation to bring it out in the open, where it can be properly regulated. I'm not exactly the type to frequent a prostitute, but even if I were, I wouldn't want to do so knowing I was encouraging sex slavery and possibly simply fueling some poor girl's exploitation and/or crippling addiction. But again, that's because at that point, it's no longer about being an arrangement between two consenting adults. It's not like we don't already have sex for money, in the form of porn, and while I know there are some out there who would say that porn should be banned, most of us agree that that's okay as a legal, regulated industry, and only draw the line when it comes to, say, the exploitation of minors and what have you. I see no reason why prostitution couldn't be handled in a similar manner, except that it would require legalizing it first, and for some reason while getting paid to have sex is okay, we draw the line at being paid to have sex with the person paying you. I fail to see the fundamental moral difference between a producer paying you to be filmed having sex, and a customer paying you to have sex with him (or her, don't want to discriminate) directly. Obviously, there are inherent dangers and risks associated with the latter, but only because it's illegal and therefore can't be regulated.

That would fall under "as long as they aren't hurting others." Of course it's problematic if you start to assume that the customer has legal responsibility for "abusing victims of human trafficking" when they have no idea that the call girl they're visiting was in such a position. For example that's the current legislation in Finland: You're free to use prostitutes' services, but only if they're independent workers and not victims of sex slave trade. Which is great and all, but by the letter of the law you can end up being a criminal without knowing it yourself...

As far as prostitution in general is concerned, it's not called the oldest profession in the world without a reason: People will always be selling their bodies, because there will always be other people paying for it. No amount of banning can stop that, and the only way to even try to improve the quality of life of sex workers (and, by proxy, their customers) is by legalizing it and regulating the profession. Trying to fight prostitution will only drive it deeper underground which no one except the crime lords should want.

For sugar baby "Bella," that financial assistance comes in the form of an allowance -- $3,000 to $5,000 a month.
"The way I see the allowance isn't anything more than enriching and empowering my life with something they have a lot of, their wealth," she said.
It's been a profitable arrangement for college grad Bella, who has managed to cut her college debt in half over the last two years, knocking $30,000 off the total.

That's all that matters, baby. Cold hard cash. That gal did anything it took to repay her debt and stay afloat in our hyper-competitive economic system. She had the goods, and sold them to the highest bidder. It's not so different than what most of us do (or wish we could do, when our "bidder" definitively isn't the highest...) everyday.

It's either that, or flipping burgers/scrubbing toilets, baby. Money talks, bullshit walks.

People do what they want. Everyone looks for something different. To some its about pretty. Others its about money or being provided for.
