Lesbian obesity not just a stereotype

Not exactly, considering that the BMI index is fundamentally flawed. If we judged people strictly by BMI, then Ahnould here would be obese:

Not these guys, certainly.

Which brings us to the next question. What about gay sumo?

Gay sumo? Gaymo? I had to slap those two words together.

Are professional bowlers athletes?

In my ultimate quest for the existence of gay sumo, I stumbled upon this:

Sumo. I've seen a bunch of of straight porn featuring 'sexy sumo wrestler girls,' but I've been unable to find a single gay sumo porn. Which either means, a) gay dudes think sumo are trolls, b) gay dudes have too much respect for the manliness of Sumo to do a x-rated parody, or c) gay dudes just jerk it to regular sumo on the tube for free.

I think the ideal solution is to allow private insurance to exist while also having a public option. Those that cannot afford insurance are at least guaranteed some form of healthcare rather than none, and those that want their snappier service times with private insurance would be able to keep it. It doesn't have to be one or the other FFS.

Besides which, the public option would set a baseline standard for service that's guaranteed for everyone, and it would thus force private insurers to compete to improve the quality of their own service in comparison. Everybody wins; poor people get treated (even if not as quickly) and more affluent people get even better insurance than they have now.

Of course, corporations hate competition, but fuck 'em, competition is healthier for the market and society at large. If monopoly or oligopoly has emerged from your capitalist economy, it has failed. The economy is supposed to be in place for the benefit of everybody, not just a select few.

That's more or less how it works in here. Those who can afford it go to a private institution, if they can't but have a "formal job" or work for the government, they go to IMSS or ISSSTE respectively. If you can't afford private care and don't have a formal job, there's the Seguro Popular (sorry, no English wiki article). Of course, as you can expect from a country in this situation, this system has a number of flaws, like medical attention ranging from being good/very good in the big cities to terrible/non-existent in some rural areas, but I guess this has more to do with how this country works than with the system itself.

yeah, you have a more likely chance of health related illnesses such as diabetes or dieing early if it's severe obesity. so yeah, it's a weakness.

What about lesbianism in female sumo?

I concur.

I perfer a woman with a little bit of fat, over a skinny girl. You know, the kind of chick you meet in a bar, that has a tiny beer gut and tattoos. I like my women crass.

Plus, if I'm a in better shape in her eyes, I can establish a sense of superiority over her. >:]

But at any rate, I do genuinely find them more attractive than a skinny girl.

They wear shirts right?

This is a very serious issue though they spent $3 million on this study.

Doesn't exist [female sumo], as far as I can tell. Sumo wrestling is actually really backwards and exclusionary of women.

Weird, I have seen women's sumo videos before, such as this one:

though obviously such events are not held in Japan, and the "wrestlers" themselves look more butch than fat. Some are actually pretty fit, and even thin! I was disappointed, as I was expecting flappy BBW rolls of fat beating each other. These women look more like hammer throw or shot put athletes instead.

Sounds like we were doing some similar huntin' my friend. After my previous girlfriends always fitting this description, the woman I ended up proposing to doesn't have a single tat and is very 'clean', though she has meat on her bones at least ;)

It's funny how sometimes we think we know for certain what we like most, then someone comes along and totally rebuilds our view of what we desire in a woman.

This is getting a bit off track though. I'M AN OBESE LESBIAN AND PROUD

In all honesty I don't know much (anything) about Sumo more than I've read on a couple of Wikipedia articles. Certainly I doubt it's a purely black and white matter, but it sounds like women aren't accepted in "traditional" Sumo where wrestlers apparently have to live in some kind of weird heavily-regimented communal lifestyle.

The view of the Sumo Association is that this is a tradition that has been firmly maintained through the centuries, so it would be a dishonor to all of their ancestors to change it.

Same here, I guess burlesque type girls have an ideal body IMHO. Girls that have bodies sort of like Bettie Page.

Staying on topic: I think some lesbians prefer to have more body weight because it makes them feel more masculine in some degree. Particularly the butch ones; Chaz Bono types. That's what my dominatrix friend once told me. She works in a dungeon in NYC, so she familiar with a lot of these kind of topics.

I'd be interested to know if the trend extends beyond the US. Due to the make-up of my family, I've been the token straight-guy at number of lesbian functions, and the "lesbian obesity" stereotype (of which I was unaware before this thread) certainly doesn't tally with my own experience.
