xbroglos Posted September 9, 2014 So some time after completing my Caco model ( here: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/creative-works/65441-my-caco/ ) I was left with one rubber ball the same size as I used then. The Pain Elemental is not a favorite monster of mine, but I though, why not? Then began a journey more than 6 months long. Im uploading the pictures. 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted September 9, 2014 (sorry for the quality of the pics, I still have the same shitty cellphone) It began when I found a round clear plastic thing the perfect size (I am told it is a contact lens packaging - now it's a hell creature's cornea, how fitting) Other pictures: http://imgur.com/a/kt2il When I painted the cornea, I also painted a black dot inside to represent the pupil, but thet decided against it, that's why it is smeared. But I thought, wth, it's a monster, he doesn't have to have a beautiful eye. Like the Caco, I put a LED inside it to make the eye lit. 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted September 9, 2014 This LED work I'm very proud of: It's mounted on a shoyu bottle cap, that was simply immersed in hot water for a few seconds and became the absolutely perfect part: More pictures: http://imgur.com/a/JnV3D next I glued another plastic scrap to diffuse the light. I don't know why it looks so bright in the picture, it's not like that in person. 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted September 9, 2014 Started sculpting. He looked a bit upset at this point: Finished with the papier mache. After this the project stalled: I put too much material inside his mouth, and since it is a rubber ball therefore impermeable, it took forever to dry. Weeks. http://imgur.com/a/bJa8e I was uncapable to sculpt the arms, so I went looking for a small doll or other toy I could rip its arms off. This proved much more difficult than anticipated. I believe they don't make them very small anymore. I dont know. Anyway, weeks passed, then months. I kept looking at every child I saw in the street to see if they had a toy the right size I could steal. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jaxxoon R Posted September 9, 2014 And then while they're distracted by their missing toy, you take their arms. 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted September 9, 2014 It looks like some fucked up evil planet 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted September 10, 2014 After months of unfruitful search for doll arms, I gave up. I gave a try at sculpt out an epoxy product I happened to have around (expired). And whatdu you know? they came out not half bad! see: more pics: http://imgur.com/a/pc8q8 I'm so ok with those arms that maybe I'll try to make an imp someday (until now I thought the humanoid form was too difficult for my art skills). And possibly a demon. And before, a spider. But I digress. next, teeth. 0 Share this post Link to post
Shapeless Posted September 16, 2014 pretty cool, I misplaced the arms and horns on mine so never finished it. so I too started looking at kids on the street for toys with arms I can steal, but they are all plugged into their cell phones. 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted September 16, 2014 It looks as if a PE ended up by mistake in paint shop and got spray-painted with high-pressure chrome paint, and now it's suffering due to the suffocating layers of toxic, impermeable paint :-) 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted September 16, 2014 ^That'd be a Paint Elemental. (btw my model is not chromed. Also my camera is shit.) 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted December 3, 2014 I never posted the final pictures. Here they are: strange visual effect ligh from the LED Together with his friend (or enemy in case of infighting) Here is a link for the Caco: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/creative-works/65441-my-caco/ AND here is a link to the IMP I (finally) put myself to do: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/creative-works/71029-my-imp/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Unregistered account Posted December 3, 2014 That final Pain Elemental is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I don't suppose you could make the Caco's eye green? Also, his mouth is a bit snall/too low down. Not much you can do about it now, I'm sure, but just a thing I noticed. Love your current works! 0 Share this post Link to post
xbroglos Posted December 3, 2014 hey, thanks! actually I suck as an artist/sculptor, which means when I start I don't know what the thing will end looking like. The caco's eye, I swear it is green, it looks yellow in the picture because my cellphone camera is stupid. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jaxxoon R Posted December 4, 2014 Good to see that this was finished. And, yeah, LEDs tend to fuck with cameras in general. 0 Share this post Link to post
Syferous Posted April 21, 2015 I'm the Icon of Sin Diorama guy. Just saw this. Very nice! Love the LED in the eye! Keep it up! 0 Share this post Link to post
purist Posted April 21, 2015 The PE ended up better than the Caco - nice work :-) 0 Share this post Link to post
joe-ilya Posted April 21, 2015 I agree, the caco's terrible, it should be remade, so it'll be up to par with the PE. Right now the caco looks like PE's retarded brother. 0 Share this post Link to post

Your posts are making me go finish the Spider and the Imp (next rainy weekend). 0 Share this post Link to post
