Stretching Doom songs yields interesting results

http://www.mediafire.com/download/ogbyrtccddcf4po/E2M4+-+Stretched+%28Partition+36%29.ogg This is Partition 36's E2M4 rendition slowed down about 9 to 9.5 times with a program called Paulstretch. The song was increased to about 30 minutes long but it does sound like one of those semi-ambient pieces of tranquility due to the choir and tremolo strings.

Here is the original for comparison: http://www.mediafire.com/download/f4cd31n5hm02u9o/E2M4+%28Partition+36%29.mp3

Also E1M5, E1M7 and E2M6 all came out pretty well but many of the other guitar pieced songs didn't fare very well if stretched heavily but did OK if stretched a bit.

Sounds like something out of an early Resident Evil. Pretty neat trick. Makes me wonder if a video game could actually switch between an 'ambient' and an 'action' version of each track on the fly by using this method and just 'stretching' out the song. Very intriguing.

Accordion E2M8 sounds really cute slowed down, kind of brooding (unlike the original which feels tense); too bad that it's accompanied by that synth bass which is too noisy. The slowed down drums sound like breathing or panting, still kind of sad! Very fitting for horror shooters like Doom.

very cool stuff,
never heard such a high quality timestretch.

I liked the results of E2M4 and E2M7 the best
