TimeOfDeath Posted June 8, 2009 Some demos were recorded on map01 of a wad, then the map was changed to map13. Is it possible to edit the demos so that they play on map13? 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted June 8, 2009 Yeah, edit the lump's fourth byte with a hex editor, from 01 to 0D (hexadecimal values). Some demo apps might also allow you to change the level through a command. 0 Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted June 9, 2009 Sorry, I'm kinda not smart. I opened the lmp with a hex editor but am not sure where the fourth byte is. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Green Herring Posted June 9, 2009 /me looks at the filename :O If you're editing a Boom demo, you'll need to edit the byte circled here: If you're editing a vanilla Doom 2 demo, the byte you'll want to edit is the one highlighted in red here: 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted April 13, 2015 TGH's pics aren't visible anymore, can somebody please tell which bytes he was talking about? 0 Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted April 13, 2015 First, here's a hex conversion page that was helpful for me to see how to write numbers in hex (27 for example, in map27, to a hex value of 1B): http://ascii.cl/conversion.htm For a boom/cl9 demo, change the 11th square: For a vanilla/cl2 demo, change the 4th: 0 Share this post Link to post
Never_Again Posted April 13, 2015 Demo header format tables: vanilla Boom MBF You can use Windoze Calculator to convert between hex and decimal. 0 Share this post Link to post
