Hello, I have made some small touch-ups to some existing freedoom assets that I found needed. Many of the changes I've made are rather small but I found were somewhat necessary. Here is the WAD:

Here is some previews of what is included in the WAD file I provided:

Better looking Water and Bloodfalls, No more Grey splotches


Newer gibdeaths for the player and Chaingunners, the current ones don't match the style of the Zombies and Imp gibdeaths



New Bullet puffs, purely edited from the freedoom ones, I tried making them different from Id's but its difficult with such a small sprite


Combo-Key graphics for ZDoom-based ports for when you have both Keycards and Skullkeys


Slightly enhanced Angle Grinder. Mostly color tweaking and anti-aliasing. and its now widescreen friendly. It's a small change but I think it helps a lot aesthetically.


I also made a Widescreen version of the normal Angle Grinder


What's also included is a LANGUAGE lump for ZDoom that changes Weapon names for Mouse scrolling through weapons shown here in this shoddy thrown together screenshot thing http://i.imgur.com/t5pR07J.png

And a GLDEFS lump that fixes the Dynamic lights for some objects for GZDoom from their Doom counterparts (I.E. SKAG ball glows blue instead of green, Red armor vest glows red instead of blue, and Temp-Invulnerability glows pink instead of green like they should)

I also posted this at Zdoom which is a SKAG edited from an Older, Repurposed Freedoom plasmagun IIRC and bits of the current SKAG. It doesnt have a pick-up graphic. Here is the WAD for it:

I also tried an attempt at a Hi-resolution version of the current freedoom logo since I heard freedoom could use one. It's definitely not perfect and it could use some details and texturing. The image is done in a single layer raster format. (sorry if this is a problem)

Great work! I specially love the new touched up SKAG.
The GLDEFS are great, maybe we can get the GZdoom/Zandronum devs to include them when loading Freedoom as an Iwad.
But I think the marine gibbing is already perfect, and the zombie/imp ones should be improved instead.

@HorrorMovieGuy: I always liked the chunky black gibs for freedoom a bit more and I thought they looked a bit more disgusting & unique than doom style gibs (like if the enemy was charred while being blown apart). Although I agree they could be improved.

Honestly, the marine gibbing frames look like you've just stuck them over one of the marine walking sprites, which doesn't look great. I'd recommend using either the existing pain frames or the death ones as a basis and try incorporate the gibbing into the sprite a little more. The gibs themselves look cool though and all the other sprites are pretty spiffy looking, so you've definitely got some spriting chops. Keep going man. :)

I actually did use his front pain sprite as a base (PLAYG1) So maybe I'll have to do some more work to make it more convincing. I also recommend trying it in motion in-game moreso than staring at still sprites.

EDIT: Tried doing different gib sprites, I doubt these ones are any better. Usually I'm much better at object sprites and not monster and player ones. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mit6h3q5ja46ial/freedoomgib.wad?dl=0

Sorry for double posting but I'm planning to redo the Light column and Evil Eye sprites but need help coming up with some possible concepts. The light, while a good sprite, feels so similar to Doom's that I think it could be updated unless said otherwise. The evil eye speaks for itself. Since Freedoom isn't going in the same Direction as Doom anymore, it doesnt have to be an eye with a symbol.

IIRC this is a Boom feature rather than a ZDoom feature, so if I'm right this will also be useful for ports like PRBoom and Eternity.

I haven't actually tried either of those ports TBH. But that's good to hear though if that's the case. Usually I play GZDoom for almost everything.
