Qustions about modding

Hello. This is my first post to this forum and im new to modding doom (Not to modding in general. I am a very secsesful modder at NHL 2004 Rebuilt) And i wanted to know how to do a few things.

1. How do i add a new crosshair to doom? (Im using GZDOOM)

2. How do i add weapons to exsisting mods (Person use only)

3. What tools will i need to do these things?

1. There's something called XHAIRS, a ZDoom lump. More info here:

2. There's a site called Realm667 to get those. You can also get custom weapons on /idgames as well.
3. What I use and most modders is something called SLADE 3.

Make sure to get the latest Microsoft C++ otherwise it won't run.

It's easy kinda.

Example:

1. SCOPE1
2. SCOPE2
And so on...

That's not enough. You also need to make a crosshair graphic for the lump. Once made, right click and click on "text" on the "view as" option.
Graphic name:
XHAIRB1-99 (Big)
XHAIRS1-99 (Small)

Graphic:


I think you do need to leave the black background for the transparency. The white, It may be for the color based off of how much health you have.

But where do i find the information like when you listed " 1. SCOPE" Im brand new to this stuff.
