Doom2 Level 7 "Dead Simple" secret

How on earth do you get to the secret exit in level 7 (with the BFG) without noclip??!

I think that the BFG is only acessible in deathmatch. Not sure how to access it.

That exit is for deathmatch only. The level is set so that when you kill the arachnotrons, the stair to the regular exit switch rises. But if you're having a deathmatch with no monsters, then there is no way to exit the level, so that's what it's for. If you look in the map, there's a deathmatch start in that secret room, and you can open a wall into the rest of the level from there.

You have to start out in the room, It opens differently depending on your version of doom2.wad
