Guest Erick20 Posted September 1, 2000 I just recently installed Zdoom and I am unsure how to load a .wad file. I tried going to the console and typing 'map x.wad' but it didn't understand.. is that the right thing to type? thanks guys, 0 Share this post Link to post
Vorpal Posted September 1, 2000 Let's say you have gothicdm. You simply type: zdoom -file gothicdm.wad 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted September 1, 2000 For the last time (hopefully), YOU CANNOT LOAD WADS IN THE CONSOLE! 0 Share this post Link to post
TheProphet Posted September 1, 2000 Hey, cool down! Not everybody is a DOOM guru. Using a command line is from a modern gamer's view obsolete and unusual. We should be happy that there are still guys who are interested in DOOM and want to try the new possibility our community offers them. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest PainoMan Posted September 2, 2000 Y'know, the idea of loading a pwad from the console isn't half bad! Pretty much makes sense nowadays, doesn't it? Port authors take note! 0 Share this post Link to post
stphrz Posted September 2, 2000 SMMU can! I'm not sure if it's from the console or if it's a menu option(both maybe?), but you can do it!!! Works great too. Fraggle is god. 0 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted September 2, 2000 You can also use a ZDooM front end (such as ZDLaunch), which is Windows-based. It's fairly straightforward to use, but it has a few bugs that the author is trying to work out. You can get it at: http://www.ltsp.com/users/jcuenco/zdlaunch/downloads.html 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Nuno Correia Posted September 6, 2000 TheProphet said:Not everybody is a DOOM guru. That is not problem... it's just a case of lack of Reading The F-ing Manual. Is it that hard to double click the readme.txt file in WinZip (general case)?! 0 Share this post Link to post
