Icon of Sin

What's the origin of the sound that the Icon of Sin makes when it shoots? I've heard it in several movies and tv-series but I don't think they've sampled it from Doom II.

i believe it is some kind of a beggining of an atomic explosion in a movie I saw before but I cant remember,but I can rememeber fighting the demon god and that noise clicked in my head.

when it speaks, the first time u see it, it is saying "to win the game you must kill me john romero" but to here that part of the message u got to extract the file for the vioce and reverse it

I meant the "swoosch" sound that you hear when it fires the cubes.
