ViperBoy Posted March 23, 2001 if you're using Windows, then create a shortcut to Edge (edge32.exe or gledge32.exe). Right click on that shortcut, choose properties. In the "Target:" box write add this parameter: -file something.wad for example: target: c:\games\doom2\gledge32.exe -file cobra.wad This means that you want to use a wad file called cobra.wad... simple huh ? 0 Share this post Link to post
deadnail Posted March 23, 2001 Wouldn't it be easier to hit view, folder options, file types, new type and fill in: Description of type : Doom WAD Associated Extension: .wad Content Type: application/doom-wad Actions: New Action: Run Level in Edge Application used to perform action: Browse for Edge. Then, when the full path for it is in the box add -file %1 to the end of it. The %1 is the most important part. Then OK your way back to the folder. Double clicking on any wad file should now open it in Edge for you. You can also add -skill 4 to the end of it too to make it start off in Ultra Violence difficulty. I think this is better, with the other way every time he opens Edge it opens up that wad too. 0 Share this post Link to post
TheProphet Posted March 23, 2001 This is no good idea, if you want to use different source ports. Better: Make a shortcut like ViperBoy said, but in the target field write "c:\games\doom2\gledge32.exe -file %1". This way you can drag and drop any WAD file to the EDGE icon to run it with EDGE. This way you can make an icon for every source port you want to use, and always run a WAD with the desired one. 0 Share this post Link to post
