What's with the Llama?

What do Llamas have to do with doom? I saw some post in that had something to do with llamas and another one here:

Llama is where you hit someone while they are still typing. You can actually get Llamas in Skull Tag if you shoot the bots at the right time. If you did it right, you hear a baaaa sound and it will say Llama! On your screen.

I thought it was Maxis that had the hang-up with Llamas :)
