Hack files?? come on

ok i have never heard of any file or virus with the ability to destroy a BIOS chip or any other hardware. The most damageing are viruses that mess with bootsector stuff, but that is on the hard drive. the BIOS is read only and none of its settings are on the hard drive. so some one explain how a virus can harm the hardware in such a way.

the newer bios chips can be flashed, or changed to a new version. so, all a virus has to do is delete the old data and not update it. here's a tip: go to your motherboard's manufacturer's site, and get the flash program for your mb and back up the bios. Also, there will be updates to support your hardware (bigger hard drives, faster processors, etc).

But if the BIOS is non-existant, how's he gonna be able to boot and do an update, hmm?
