Guest nimrodd Posted September 7, 2000 i'm new at this gig, guys, so how do you edit sprites and what is the best doom level editor/creator to download? 0 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted September 7, 2000 Editing sprites: If you mean inserting your custom sprites into your wad, then 8 out of 10 level designers will probably tell you to use WinTex. Editing the graphic elements of the sprite itself will require a graphics editor such as Photoshop (even though I'm way, way, way old school and I still use MSPaint because it's easy!) Best Level Editor/Creator: Apparently there is no such thing. Every level designer has his/her favorite(s). Personally, I prefer WadAuthor (I've tried WinDeu, DeepSea, and WinTex), but DCK, Deth, DoomCad, and others appear to be popular too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Shaviro Posted September 7, 2000 I use DCK for Wad-making... Paintshop-pro for altering graphics... 3D Studio for Modeling Weapons and creatures... Wintex for implementing... Dehacked for EXE editing... Wadauthor for scripting... Yes DCK IS populair Rex. U HEAR ME KIDDO. POPULAIR! 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest nimrodd Posted September 7, 2000 Sure, but how do i open the sprite files themselves? I'm really inexperienced with WAD making. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Fanatic Posted September 8, 2000 Download Wintex from the DOOM World Utilties section, take the tutorials, it will show you what you need to know. 0 Share this post Link to post
