Image Tags

Alot of people have tried to use these tags, but so far I havn't seen one that the mods and admins havn't just turned into a link (usually due to it being too big). Could someone please tell me the proper way to do this and provide an example? thank you.

What are the rules regarding posting images?
WARNING VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU READ ANYTHING THIS YEAR READ THIS.

Here are the rules regarding image usage. Failure to abide by these rules can result in being banned.

MAXIMUM image dimensions are 640x480. This means that image can be no more than 640 pixels wide AND the image can be no more than 480 pixels high.
MAXIMUM filesize is 80 kilobytes. If you link images larger than this you may fear the wrath of the mods.
Please use discretion when linking images that are not hosted on your own personal webspace. I do not want to get complaints from someone about how an image that was linked in a DW post has used up all their bandwidth.
No images that you would not want your grandmother to see. This includes pornography, "tasteful nudity," images of ultraviolence, seizure-inducing animated GIFs, etc etc. If you break this rule you WILL be banned IMMEDIATELY.

I can definitally vouch for this as I was banned for it before DO NOT BREAK THEESE RULES.

Newbies are of course treated with leniency initially but do be wary of those rules. It's not like we'll ban you for posting one image that's too big, but blatantly posting pr0n or doing it multiple times or something is obviously going to result in being dumped on.

I think I linked to an image that was outside those once, but I changed it when I saw that...

There are also two types of images you can do. One is to just post an image. :



The other is to post an image that when you click on it, you go to a link :

Yes, either put

OR you can remove the IMG tags by simply removing the / from /img

Or you can do URLS to the IMG instead

Quoting images is pointless and annoying. If you quote an image you get :

A person who quoted an image:

If you post a HUGE image it may get replaced with :


If you post a sick image or something you will probably see this :


Ok, enough of that. More about image tags. You cannot hotlink from geocities, because they suck. Try to find a nice, free, image hosting service, sorry, I dunno any.
