Guest Fanatic Posted May 28, 2000 Any map editor that aloows you to add new sector, line, and thing #'s can be mostly compatible with other source ports. <br><br> ZDOOM is unique, in that it can do polyobjects. DeePsea Posted June 1, 2000 BOOM's flexible types cannot realistically be mapped via a reconfigured type file - too many combinations - so one is left with a subset. So although other editors can accept new "types", there are just too many to cover them all. A workaround for some editor is to revert to the raw hex mode for setting flags and types - of course you get no editor feedback on what those "bits" now mean. Some people have a pretty good memory and can make it work:) There are two editors that were modified to support the new ports. DeePsea supports the new flags and options directly without having to resort to "hex" codes to get at all of them. There are an unlimited number of "port" configurations that can be created - each with special types if so desired. DETH was also specifically modified to work with BOOM. ZETH was derived from that to access ZDOOM specific features. 0 Share this post Link to post
