Guest nerfherder Posted September 2, 2000 I'm trying to play demos recorded in the original Ultimate Doom in a source port, because I have Windows2000, which doesn't seem to run Doom (due to Win2k's lack of DOS compatibility). The timing is off in every single port I've tried, although the timing varies among the ones I've tried. Yes, I have the right version of the iwad and all that. I played the demos back with no trouble in plain old Doom before installing Win2k. Any suggestions? 0 Share this post Link to post
Wildman Posted September 3, 2000 It won't work. Since virtually all the ports have changed the source, demo compatability was one of the first things to go. I would grab a copy of Doom95 and use that to play old demos. It's on the Ult Doom cd or (I think) you can get it from cdrom; it plays Doom, Ult Doom and Doom 2. You'll need the original wads of course. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest nerfherder Posted September 3, 2000 I forgot all about Doom95. Duh! Thanks, man. 0 Share this post Link to post
cph Posted September 17, 2000 Use PrBoom 2.1.0, it syncs almost all original Doom demos. If you've got an original demo that doesn't work in prboom, email me. 0 Share this post Link to post
