UACdead.wad or Alien Vendetta. I hardly play, so I can't tell you where to find them.

Didn't you know? It has 31 secret levels as well as the normal one!

Plutonia is really great (if you haven't already got it, try and find a copy in a shop somewhere).

Cleimos 2 is pretty good as well. (cleim20a.zip and cleim20b.zip in the /pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/ folder)

And I can't resist plugging my own megawad, Fragport, which even has 2-player co-op support. (click here)

I know lots of great DooM 1 episodes, notably the Serenity trilogy. They're 3 seperate episodes, (infinity.zip, eternity.zip, serenity.zip from the pub/idgames/levels/doom/ folder) but put them together and they're definitely a megawad.

And of course there's 2002 ado (which I'm downloading now, and looks class)

Heh, how's your server holding up? Got room for one more in your co-op games or is your ping outrageous?

BTW Slige is quite good for generating co-op levels if you set macho up a bit.

Oh yeah and you hould try the newly released 2002ado.wad, for some seriously fun Doom 1 co-op (I think it's supported..)

Well, mine (Fragport) has 2 player coop support. (the player 2 starts are there, and teleporters are in place where they're needed) but there's no extra monsters and ammo. But if you play on skill 4 with fast monsters it should be difficult enough.

The best I've seen is Dark 7 Mission Pack.

It has 7 levels, but it is great. The architecture is as amazing as the gameplay.

Woah! I just spent 3 days playing through FragPort... Excellent work!
Level 32 was incredible. :D Took my 38 minutes to do (according to ZDoom,
which doesn't include loading games).

The way the levels all flow seamlessly together is really awesome, and
the detail is great. There isn't much of that small intricate detail,
but the realism and atmosphere are awesome. :p A few of those level
would make killer deathmatches, too.

Highly recommended. :)

Oops. I hardly ever get through entire megawads. Its just too boring and most of them suck.

WTF? There are far less megawads that suck than do. Do you seriously not like wads like Memento Mori 1 and 2, Alien Vendetta, Plutonia, Hell Revealed, Invasion 1 & 2, NJZ2001, Vengeance, Requiem, Eternal Doom, STRAIN and the Darkening E1 and E2?

The only megawads I can think of that I wouldn't rate 'good', 'great', 'excellent', 'amazing' or 'incredible' are Twilight Zone 1 & 2, Icarus and TNT: Evilution. Even then I wouldn't say these suck, they're just 'okay' or 'disappointing'.

Lost Soul - Yes, 'The Underworld' fully supports co-op and deathmatch.

DOOMJR.WAD is laughably horrible.

I didn't like Plutonia, but I loved TNT. Tech base levels rule, but
I hate those... earthy levels (with vines and dirt and stuff). It's just
not fun. Not to mention the lack of variety.

Similarly, MM2 wasn't as good as MM1 IMO. The lack of good tech levels,
especially in the first two episodes, made the levels seem tedious.
Good levels, but not enough variety.

Eternal Doom is awesome, but it's too big! I hate over-sized levels.
I like levels that I can beat in under 45 minutes. That Alien Vendetta
egyptian level drove me insane!

Memento Mori 1 and 2 was made with co-op in mind.

There are a few bugs though -- for example, on one of the earlier levels
in MM1, there is a blue door which only opens once, so if you die in the
room, you're screwed.

Actually, I think this is only the case with MM1; I believe MM2 was made primarily for single player games.

Thanks for the comments, very much appreciated. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Yep, some of them would make a cool DM, especially the arenas (which are in fact replicas of arenas from a gladiatorial combat sim). If you liked that, you'll love my next creation....

BTW, did you know about the timer on map 30? (as it's not obvious that it's there when actually in the game)

Yeah, I read the text file before I started. :) I got out of the level
real fast though (4 minutes or something), not bothering too much with
monsters.

The last level was real great too, with the frantic searches for switches. :p I liked the concept of using 29 as the boss level and
30 as an escape level too.

I've started work on a puzzle-centred megawad for single player only,
inspired partially by your Level 32, and partially by sheer boredom. :)
I'll work as fast as possible on it, and see how people like it.

Silver and I tried Requiem recently, and had kind of a cruddy impression of it by level 2. She fell in the lava in the room with the red key and died. I got squished into the floor (quite literally!) by one of the red locked bars that shut behind you. Leaving us, keyless, unable to get the key in ANY way, and stuck in the goddamned floor. After we played Poison Control (map 3 I think?), though, I thought much more of it.

Level 1 and 2 of Requiem is better skipped, they are too boring anyway, but it's true that Requiem has it's coop unfriendly spots, there are a few of the levels I would believe would be cool in coop however.

Map11 and map27 springs to mind.

Play the memento mori's instead they are guaranteed co-op.
