barely doom3 related

Ok,some of you seem quite knowledgable about doom so I ask you this-oh and before I do you can fuck yoursleves sideways before saying'oh that wasnt very d3 related now was it?'-.Ok,what in fuck's name does WAD starnd for and will d3 use them AND wtf is ping?

Doom 3 is going to use standard text files to store stuff like map data, which will then be zipped to keep the filesize low.

Ping: the ping command in DOS times how long it takes to send a packet from your computer, to a remote host, and back. The lower the ping, the faster that data can be transferred.

And if you're like me your ping will be over 5000 :(
