gatewatcher Posted August 7, 2002 A bunch of hackers tried to take out the US's ISPs. They didn't do very much. The National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) issued a statement Monday afternoon saying it had "received credible, but nonspecific information that wide-scale hacker attacks against United States Web sites and Internet service providers (ISPs) are being planned ... possibly emanating from Western Europe." **From CNN.com Full story here. I hate AOL, it's too bad that didn't get hacked to hell. oh well, at least i don't have to deal with it often :) 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted August 7, 2002 Online security firm Riptech Inc. said that as of noon EDT they had not witnessed any notable evidence of an attack. Sounds like CNN just preparing for an excuse when AOL (Owned by CNN) goes down :P 0 Share this post Link to post
zark Posted August 7, 2002 Bleh. AOL is kinda like the Microsoft of ISPs. It brought an easy to use Internet service to the masses. Although AOL is lame. 0 Share this post Link to post

gatewatcher Posted August 7, 2002 the only good thing about AOL was back during the 3.0-4.0 days when punters worked. those were fun to play with. 0 Share this post Link to post
