Peter Heinemann Posted August 9, 2002 I confess, I confess, I confess.... ....that I am obviously unable to go through the shareware of "Blood" on its highest skill "Extra Crispy" without cheating (more or less). Has anyone played the shareware at the highest skill without bringing up the command-line and entering cheats like "hongkong" or "spork"? Is that possible? Be honest! "Gooo granato survey!" 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted August 9, 2002 I've never played Blood, shareware or otherwise. Sue me :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Zaldron Posted August 9, 2002 I can make it to the end of it, but I can't kill the Stone Gargoyles. They just won't die. I grew tired of trying. 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted August 9, 2002 I beat Blood + Cryptic Passage on EXTRA CRISPY once. That was a fucking pain in the ass. 0 Share this post Link to post

DooMBoy Posted August 9, 2002 16.8 megs? That's a bit hefty for a 56ker like me :( 0 Share this post Link to post
Use Posted August 9, 2002 Blood crashes too much on my system (Win98se). u know, everytime i get pickup the reflective shots the game locks up. Other than that it just blacks out at some random time. Doom whups that silly game anyway. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted August 9, 2002 For some reason I didn't like the game much either. After about the third map, I decided to just dump it. The good thing is that it didn't crash on me even once, but that didn't help much. 0 Share this post Link to post

Use Posted August 9, 2002 i enjoyed Blood when i played it through the first time on my old p90Mhz. but it just didn't make an impression on me like, well, obviously Doom did. to this day tho Blood with sfx WAY up and no music is awesome. /me looks for Blood CD just for the fuck of it 0 Share this post Link to post
pilottobombadier Posted August 9, 2002 Blood rocks, but I liked Blood II way more. The weapons were just way more fun, especially the assault rifle and mac 10s. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted August 9, 2002 I played Blood deathmatch for a while, that was fun. 0 Share this post Link to post

That's Jim Dosé's sound code for the BUILD engine messing up when it needs to apply reverb to the sound effects (one of the reflective shots' special effects). No one really knows why this happens in Live! soundcards, but there's a patch/hack somewhere that removes that effect, hence avoiding the lockup. 0 Share this post Link to post

Ichor Posted August 9, 2002 And it's also an old game from Monolith Productions. You could download the shareware version here. I myself didn't like it much, but a bunch of others did. 0 Share this post Link to post

I had the same problem with Duke3D for a long long time, nearly went insane before someone at planetduke or otherwise answered me... 0 Share this post Link to post
