You'll probably need to use an external softsynth like Fluidsynth, Timidity or BASSMIDI. I suggest using the SC-55 soundfont.

oh, fluidsynth doesnt work with microsoft gs wavetable synth :(

You could also attach an external keyboard, most consumer keyboards have echo effects.
