zzzornbringer Posted January 16, 2016 here's my current progress for my new deathmatch map. it's based on q3dm9 hero's keep from quake 3 arena. map is playable but not balanced. player starts and items have been placed. map also needs more details (basically did only one detail pass for most sectors). this is my first attempt at using the hell theme textures. required: gzdoom or zandronum, doom2.wad dwnload: (let me know if you have issues downloading the file) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzxIGzGJnU7_empWZzdIRmpfczA/view?usp=sharing 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted January 16, 2016 Seems damn good for large scale FFA or even a small LMS. Looks to be high quality mapping too, as usual. I'm looking forward to playing the balanced version, but great work so far. 0 Share this post Link to post
dg93 Posted January 17, 2016 Looks good, but I would try to make it less symmetrical. 0 Share this post Link to post

Tetzlaff Posted January 17, 2016 The original architecture of Heroe's Keep has a strong vertical vibe, like a gothic cathedral. I would try to recreate that vertical feel by redesigning the ceilings. 0 Share this post Link to post

Anyway looks pretty nice dude! don't know if it's supported. i just don't use it. i want to capture a more vanilla look while also having many details. i actually added some dynamic lights which isn't vanilla at all though but i just felt like it. don't know if i keep em in though. i want it to be very subtle. 0 Share this post Link to post

Tetzlaff Posted January 20, 2016 It doesn't have to include slopes to create a more cathedral-like feel, it also could be realised by stepped and elongated shapes. 0 Share this post Link to post
