Adding special blood puffs to specific monsters

I realize the default blood puff code is hard-locked in G/ZDoom, and a way around this is to spawn external objects, but I couldn't find a reliable way to make a Sentinel from Strife, of whom I was able to put into Doom successfully have its special electrical 'blood' puff instead of G/ZDoom's standard +NOBLOOD puff which is just a bullet impact. I think I noticed somewhere recently someone asking on ZDoom forums about adding fire effects spurting out of fire-based monsters, but that might of been spawning external objects in addition to blood. Any advice on what to do is appreciated, I couldn't really figure it out on the ZDoom wiki.

If I understand you correctly, your assumption is not true. Use BloodType.
