This one actually looks like a really good game. I found out about it recently when I was looking through a list of original Xbox games at metacritic.com.

Marble Blast Ultra

How about Switchball I liked that one better than Marble Blast Ultra due to the games atmosphere and style.

Other games that I think no one has ever heard of or are guilty pleasures of mine include:

- Hexen – None of my gammer friends have ever heard of it.
- Heretic II – Same with this one
- Wrath Unleashed – I have only played the demo but it seems like a very fun game.
- Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future – I have never played this one but I want to
- American McGee’s: Alice – Kind of a guilty pleasure of mine
- Warning Forever – A fun and addicting shoot ‘em up
- Star Trek DS9: The Fallen – This one is one of my favorite Star Trek games unfortunately I have never had the chance to finished it yet.
- Oddworld: Strangers Wrath – Hilarious just Hilarious.

I remember playing A Die Hard game in the arcade (i think), and the most vivid memory i had of it was like this QTE of drop kicking a guy or something. It may be another game, so sorry if i'm wrong.
Seek and destroy looks ALOT like battletanxs, and im loving that! May give it a look! The tanks remind me, though, of a certain anime i want to forget... Like badly....
And future cop seems like a explosion-fest of entertainment! Jeez, these games i've never heard off seem like missed gems!

Alright, I'll give of a third one. From Sierra, in fact!

Now i honestly don't know much about this game, besides it was a collectation-ish 2d sidescroller. It had a BUNCH of secrets to find, and a lot of weapons to fire at, with a bunch of different enemies to boot. It also has 2 protagonists, a guy, and a minotaur-thing. I don't even know if it was actually good.

BUT ONE THING I DO REMEMBER IS THE KICKASS MUSIC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9drnswhBGk

What makes you say that?

Well... Not so often it mentioned on sites about pixel games and no so much reviews exist on this game.
I found it casually on Wikipedia and thought this is similar to Minecraft but it's not.

There was an old MS-DOS game called Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion. I'm sure only a few remember that one. Why is it great? Because it was made by John Romero!

The reason I'm unsure of HH being good cause unlike the other two games i mentioned, i don't own Hunter Hunted no more. Got lost/destroyed because of my 8 year old self. If only i can get it again...

Now it's time to show one of them "guilty pleasure" game i've talked about.

Now this game had some flak back when i showed it to my friends back in the young days. Mainly because it's sometimes buggy and even freezes! One of its more unforgiving bugs is involving a treasure (things needed to complete the game 100%) was entirely unobtainable. I think it was this Golden Sink thing that was untouchable, no matter what you were.

BUT FUCK, this is the only game you can become a FUCKING TURTLE TANK. FLYING JET FOX. MACHINE GUN RAT? All unheard fun of robotic animals busting each other to bits!

I like how human enemies have small and giant versions, just like robots. :)

I thought they explained that the "humans" were just robots that look like humans.
Thats why they didn't care how many they lost

Ascendancy

Probably the best space 4X game ever made. It was on iOS for a while but it seems to have vanished with the rest of the parent company.

This! Ascendancy has so many issues and bugs, the endgame is an insane building grind, enemy AI is retarded even after the patch, the goals and deadlines are defined too vaguely, the Chamachies are way OP... but I still play it from time to time, because its style has impressed me so much, the ship-building and the research triple-helix are godly and the beautiful music goes so well with the art.

The company, Logic Factory, are some German dudes who still semi-exist whenever they feel like it, but I doubt they still do anything. Iirc they announced Ascendancy 2 and a very ambitious RPG project with that space alien vibe of theirs closely after they released The Tone Rebellion in 1997, but the latter was pure vaporware and probably killed whatever funding they had. I've seen a brief mention of them still working on Asc2 around 2011, so by now they're comfortably ahead of even DNF's production time. Any day now!

Speaking of...

One of the weirdest 4X games ever. Still with the alien vibe, still plagued by retarded AI, but still very enjoyable and entirely unique. I'd say it came too soon, it would probably be perfect as a mobile game for non-idiots.

... Delta Force series... an actual tactical shooter with no story bullshit or linearity.

... Star Warfare 2 on Google Play and Appstore, an arena shooter with huge amount of guns, suits and pickups consisting of things like Rage, Speed, vehicles, etc. IDK why I like it so much.

Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri. I wouldn't call this a 'mech' game like Mech Warrior. Basically it was a sci fi themed 'thinking man' FPS games in which the player commands a team of power armored soldiers, fighting space pirates and the Earth based Hegemony that wants to absorb the player's home system into their territory.

It wasn't a graphic highlight back in the day and the FMV was probably to ridiculous but the gameplay such as the strategic and tactical fighting felt good once you put time and energy into it.

Sub Culture. Basically Elite under water though Sub Culture had a storyline behind the trading similar to Wing Commander Privateer in which the player plays a pivotal role in a war between two underwater nations.
It is a bit bare bones when it comes to missions are there are no missions outside the ones that advance the stories (no random mission generator), and the only way the player can make money is through salvaging and trade which is a bit limiting.
But visual wise it looks really neat if you want to experience an ocean from the viewpoint of a very small submarine.

It of course looks pretty basic now but the gameplay might still be fun for a couple of days.

Deer Hunter 2005 Season.

I remember sinking hours into this game. The only people who seem to remember it are myself and some cousins who owned a copy (In fact, I was first introduced to it by them). Allowed you too carry flashy pink guns before CS:GO.

That set of a spark of a long lost memory. I used to played a internet version of deer hunter like in 03-04 ? eh, honestly the memory is really vauge.

Captain Comic 2, which I adored but could not finish growing up since the dude in the computer world always whooped my ass as a kid (footage by Lingyan203, no less)

Zeliard, another game I didn't really get as a kid... I think I barely made it past the the forest dungeon back then.

Eradicator. This game was awesome -- three playable characters with (somewhat) different mission arcs, sprawling levels with loads of exploration and weird puzzles, alternating 3rd person/1st person perspective, a Picture in Picture feature which let you continue controlling your character while also controlling whatever remote controlled device you were using at the time, plus other cool things. It had a lot of quirks, and admittedly wasn't anywhere near as exciting as a game like Duke 3d, but I still thought it was really cool.

This game had a lot of heart, and it seems like nobody ever remembers it. I found it for like .90 cents at a toy outlet in Gettysburg like 15 years ago, and I couldn't believe it when I got home. It even came with a fully fledged level editor, I mean wtf! A lot of ambition for a game that seems to have died as soon as it came out. Guess it just came out too late.

I feel like i'm being a glory hog putting so many games I play in this topic. But it's just so sad seeing these gems not being able to see the light of day, that i have to put up more! :(

Well, here's another underrated game. Quite recent, actually.
AZURE STRIKER GUNVOLT

Remember the last time Capcom released a legitimate/fun Mega Man game? ME NEITHER! Supposely Mighty No 9 will be the next best Mega man-ish game, but I don't have high hopes for it due to its recent numerous delays, and overall lack or presentation.

BUT WAIT NO MORE, for this game has just the Megaman gameplay you crave and love!
I honestly have played VERY LITTLE from this game (a friend let me borrow his 3ds to play a good hour of it). But just from that short play, i was getting the nostalgic run and gun and dying sensation i so missed from the old games of the Blue Bomber!

If you want to play a legit megaman game without the title, then give this a try!

"Ah... digital sound working." - Terri Brosius

One of my favourites. And possibly the game that broke Looking Glass Studios, due to massive investment they put into it, attempting to become a publisher along the way, versus the meagre sales it produced.

It was pretty technically advanced for it's day, mixing voxel and polygons to create a seamless landscape that literally extended for kilometres into the distance. In most games those mountains in the distance were just a bitmap image, in TN:SFC you could go run up them. Unfortunately it didn't essentially look advanced, partly due to the standard resolution of 320x200, and due to the long range combat took place at, meant that enemies were often merely 4 pixels high.

The FMV was on par with Wing Commander IV and Command & Conquer, in it's cheesy production values, and the game had the same kind of mission based structure to it, with a lot more background lore to explore.

Game play was sadly a bit clunky. The controls were at best workable, being similar to System Shock. Your squad were liabilities against any heavy opposition, and I often just parked a repair specialist somewhere, and sniped the enemies down piecemeal. Still the game could have it's frenetic moments, and just physically running and jet-packing across it's landscapes always felt good.

Critically, it was well received. In fact at one point PC GAMER berated it's readership for not damn well going out and buying the thing. Oh, and it had the sexiest installation process in the history of video games, because you know, Terri Brosius.
