Oddly enough I remember being able to open the console by simply pressing ~ straight out of the box. I guess that wasn't supposed to happen? Hmm, I wonder why it worked so easily. Weird.

Pressing tilde simply doesn't work for me, and for most people .
Steam users like me don't need the autoexec.cfg however, it should be possible to open the console by Simply pressing the keys directly (CTRL+ALT+Tilde)
