Hahaha, the Samus resemblance is really noticeable in the Visor. Alot of the level design in the new game does as well.

The 3D map, the overall level design, the suit's visor, the emphasis on audio logs and downloading maps, secret perma-stat boosters, boots that allow you to double jump, I think id was slightly inspired by the Metroid Prime series.

Metroid is a pretty badass dude it's not hard to see the resemblance

In this instance, I believe this word was used correctly. Buzz Lightyear is pretty much the opposite of DoomGuy, yet has resemblances in the torso...in this context it makes sense, as his armor resemblance goes against the overall Doom theme. Unless you meant I should have put "incongruent" instead.

There's no reasoning behind calling a thing incongrous when you're comparing it to something else that's entirely different in almost every aspect to boot.

and if you mean that the praetor suit design is odd and ill-fitting for the remainder of the design of the overall game, then I respectfully digress
