Hi

I've been creating some new wads for a while. They are quite finished. Here are some screenshots from them! Not sure why pics don't show up(at least for me). I put direct links also.

Here are layouts for maps! Imgur resized these but maybe at least the size

can be seen.. So I have 9 nearly finished and 2 unfinished maps. First I intented to do one map, but then I got new ideas in did two more and now... Maybe I'll try to do a megawad or something. Or I publish this when I finish those two maps.

Tango: Originally I thought I stay within Doom 2 textureset. Let's see. Maybe I try to learn how to use those mapinfo files. Is there list somewhere of these skies?

Because the img tags only work with direct links to actual image files, not with links to image preview webpages.

Basic Doom format is the format with potential compatibility with vanilla Doom and all Doom source ports. However, MAPINFO is a ZDoom feature, so if you used it, it would mean that your wad will be ZDoom compatible - which is a narrow compatibility. You could change a map's sky via Boom/MBF sky transfers, which would make your wad Boom/MBF compatible (PrBoom-plus -complevel 9) - which is a broader compatibility. If you just replaced the SKY1/2/3 textures with different looking ones, and accepted the fact that MAP01-11 are hardcoded to use SKY1, MAP12-20 use SKY2 and MAP21-32 use SKY3, then your wad would be potentially limit-removing compatible (PrBoom-plus -complevel 2) - which is an even broader compatibility. Due to the sheer amount of detail in your maps, I don't think you would be able to achieve the broadest (vanilla) compatibility, though.

EDIT: To prevent misunderstanding, if you used MAPINFO in your wad, both vanilla and PrBoom-plus would be able to play the wad, but they would simply ignore the MAPINFO, as if it didn't exist in the wad, so that any feature dependant on the MAPINFO would not work. Similarly with the Boom/MBF sky transfers, vanilla and non-MBF-compatible limit-removing ports would just ignore them.

Vanilla has a better compatibility across the board with ports, but does not support mapinfo lumps. ZDoom has really shitty compatibility but does support making lumps. Note there are other ways to transfer skies, so a jump to zDoom formats would be a bad move if that was the sole reason.

Vanilla doom format. I have tested these with JDoom and GZdoom. JDoom doesn't support mapinfo either if I remember correctly. Also I had to increase memorylimit for JDoom. On the library map I encountered blocklimit or something.

Map just won't start if I add sectors. It has slightly over 20 000 sidedefs, 11000 linedefs, 2200 sectors.

I still quite don't get what limits the map.. I kinf of accidently figured out that I reached some limit. I searched for a long time a bug from a level. Then I just deleted one part of the level an it didn't crash.
