Deathmatch Compilations (exec, brit, dwango and more)

Welcome to the DM compilation thread! Here I will be merging various FFA wads for server hosts to have a larger/more varied map rotation.

Just played on a server with this WAD running. I don't remember the server name - was it yours? - either way, it felt great to play a giant Brit/exec marathon, even when people started spamming the BFG. xD

Speaking of TDMax, I find it is a decent pack for 4 player FFA if you bother to remove the garbage like 99% of the GothicDM or TLS stuff.

Yes Marcaek, tdmax without the gothic 2 is called zandrotdm from above. I found out how terrible Gothic 2 really was in DM...

EDIT: Also I'm willing to do some more compilations for wads that don't have loads of custom textures (since they make it hard as bauls.) If you guys can think of any other DM wads that could use a merger, let me know.

Russians somehow made that crazy deathmatch pack with like 1000 maps, many with custom textures. Dunno how they managed that. It even lead to a discovery of some bug (for some reason the port creators didn't expect people to make 1000 map wads).

What is that wad called? I am interested in checking it out.

I believe he's talking about TERApack by Maikl_Russia. I'm googling it and having trouble finding a link though, but it's hosted on ZDaemon, that much I know for sure.

Why, is there any other way to play these maps?

Well, I suppose the alternative would be zipping around with the SSG, but the British series are still a lot of fun if you try to be resourceful with your weapons.

Just updated this list. I find that roughly 25-30 maps makes for the perfect number of unique maps on a server - Enough to breed familiarity but not so few that you're playing the same old turf again in a matter of minutes.

A Zan-only compilation of various maps. It's supposed to be an (older, severely outdated) newschool mappack but it has stuff from onslaught too for some reason???

Are there any weapon-themed compilations? Like "maps without SSG", "rocket-centric maps", "pure BFG spam maps", etc. Could be interesting.

The only one I can think of is the Brit+Exec combo since it's 99% BFG. I'm worried compiling maps in such a way would lead to really repetitive rounds but it's not a bad idea to maybe get categories put together and see where popular maps fall within them. Generally speaking I try to compile wads that are related somehow even if loosely (at least one author in common or something like that) but there have been some exceptions of course.
