Realistic star sky for Doom?

Is there any realistic rendering of the space sky for Doom, with the same constellations as seen from the Solar System, but cropped for Doom's 1024*128 panorama background?

All-direction skyboxes would work as well...

It should be relatively straightforward to take http://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/details.cgi?aid=3572 and convert it to a cube skybox, and then cut down the 4 sides to match the Doom sky size.

I wonder if there's a public text-based (XML?) map of the stars from which I can generate sky textures. It would be astronomical in size but that's the intended pun.
