Modding it out.

hey.
Me and my little brother plan to make sort of silent hill 2:ish
mod for doom 2
no graphics and such will be used from silent hill 2 due to
copyrights and such.
but a scare
what port that will be used we do not know yet
so my question is
What port/enginge is easiest to mod to.

we are planning to make ingame movies sort of. (possible?)
usage of mp3s (i've seen that somewhere)
anyway help me out !

By in-game movies, I assume you mean in-engine cutscenes rather than .avi or .mpg or whatever. If so, ZDoom definitely lets you make cutscenes. I'm not really sure about the other ports, maybe Legacy does too.

IMHO the best port for this task would be Edge, although it doesn't have cutscenes.

It is however quite easy to mod for and there are actually TWO Resident Evil (similar "feel" and structure to Silent Hill) mods in progress using Edge, so it must be suitable for this type of mod :-)

damn it. i kinda wanted to do that...

Some of us Legacy guys have been doing some cool shit with scripted cameras added to pre-recorded demos. Unfortunately there's no MP3 support. :(
