My rant: Sept 11th/rememberance and such.

Every station that's on, there's a September 11th rememberance thing on. Take a moment of silence they say. Blah blah blah. If I hear the words "September" or "11th" again today I'll scream.

I agree we must remember those who died, but no where does it say to remember Osama Bin Laden's hatred toward the US, and what hatred could cause. I bet you 99.9% of the people in the world hate others the exact same way they did before this tragedy. Just like the jokes right after the 11th, people are being hypocritical.

This event should have brought the human race together. Love the person beside you even more, hate others less. Because, tomorrow, they could be gone. Tomorrow, on the 12th, people will go back to their ordinary human lives of hating each other and cause each other misery.

Think of it, in the past year, how many times have you hurt someone intentionally you hated, and never thought twice about the concequences? The human race makes me sick. It's like people who go to church every Sunday without fail, learning the word of the Lord, and getting out of church, only to go back screwing people over everyday. Hypocrits, all people.

So, on this Sept 11th anniversery, don't just remember those who died. Make a change to your life, and make sure that those people never died in vain. Hate leads to hate easily, but loving everyone as a result of the ultimate hate crime will make you a bigger and better person. Instead of taking a moment of silence, take a life of silence. NEVER forget those who died, and never forget how someone's hatred could cause this much misery.

Just wait and see and pay attention. When you were small and they told you about the colonization of America, did they let you know about the genocide it was? When did you find out 100s of bloody dictatorships were founded by the US... did you ever? Once you've seen all this, can you actually believe what the "official" media has to say? Just wait 10 or 20 years. You may not know then either. Who knows what's up.

Most people don't even know about the Iran-Contra scandal, the assassination attempts on Castro, the details about Beruit, or the rigging of the Lebanese election.

Even the schools are being corrupted, or at least mine anyways, we always do these work things on the 9-11 stuff and always get lectured about it...the good thing is we get to watch t.v. instead of work :)

The Usama bin Laden videotape,found in Afghanistan, for its part, is said to provide chilling evidence that bin Laden knew of and helped plan the most devastating terrorist attacks in history. As this is supposed to be a remembrance thread, today - 16th September - I choose to remember the 20th anniversary of the massacre at the Sabra and Shatilla refugee camps in Palestine, where 3500 women, children and elderly people were killed by Israeli soldiers under the command of defence minister Ariel Sharon.

That was one fucked up day indeed. I've heard horror stories coming out of that incident. Pretty much a pogrom.

This thread has taken a turn. A few turns, actually.

Well, everyone's forgotten September 11 already. In the sense that the festivities for the "celebration" of the one-year anniversary are over with. Typical with holidays. Major deals like this always strike me as orgasmic: a gradual build-up of excitement and commercialism, leading to the event itself and all the spectacle and glory attached to it, and afterwards a rapidly dimming glow and a mess to clean up. You know what I'm saying?
