Doom Touch ¿Multiplayer without internet?

Hi all.

Since I'm quite ignorant about the capabilities of cellphones nowadays, and google had not answer me anything yet, I wonder if you could iluminate me on this question.

Occasionally I play Doom with a friend with his cellphones (his new one and his old one, mine does not run Doom Touch) using wifi, my question is: Is there a way to connect two cell phones via cable or something in order to not depend on wifi to play?

Why cables? Wireless is better, isn't it?
How do you even use cables on phones, other than for charging and accessories?

If you can play using Wifi, then stick with it. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Most of the time we are in places where there's no wifi, and traveling a couple of hours on a bus, so we thought that if we could find a way to play without wifi we could play Doom in those situations.

Maaaaaybe with an ad-hoc TCP/IP connection over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, if both phones have support for it.

A similar connection over USB cable is simply not supported by the majority of devices (assuming that you find a microUSB-to-microUSB cable, and both devices support Ethernet-on-USB or something).
