Do you collect anything?

Recommended Posts

I personally collect vinyl because I like to be inconvenienced when I listen to music.

And if you got any pictures you should post them! Here are my recent purchases.

I have way too many cartridges for old game systems, especially Nintendo stuff. Will post a photo soon. Been collecting since I was a wee lad!

My dad has a bunch of great vinyl at his place, maybe I'll get him to take a photo of that as well, he has a ton of Beatles records among other good stuff.

I collect SNES, Genesis, PS1/PS2 and 90's computer games. Obscure horror movies on VHS and LaserDisc, plus my 500+ Blu-ray collection.

If you want a strange amalgamation of all that you described, you might want to check out the free game Babysitter Bloodbath. It's a little slow to start, but it really gives you both that 80s slasher film and that PSX vibe at the same time.

As for me, I collect musical equipment. Not the biggest collection in the world, but I've got some really neato classic and antique gear that I can still jam on today. Otherwise, I guess having a bunch of video games counts as collecting, too.

I collect video games, I used to collect SNES, NES, GENESIS and other old school console games, but now I focus more on collecting boxed PC games.

If I uploaded the pictures right, here is my collection of music cd's (not that collectible) and a bunch of games I picked up at a local store, a month ago. I want to start collecting big box games and I also have a few cartridges for Atari 2600 and GBA SP and some games for ps1 ps2. Finally, I intend to buy some more consoles like SNES, NES, Mega Drive, N64, Magnavox Odyssey and an Amiga 1200 (my collection is just beginning to take shape).

I collect shmup OSTs. Taking a screenshot of my digital library is probably not going to say much. Really though, shmups have some very good OSTs, especially those bullet hell shmups from CAVE have some fine music.

Ah well, I love video game music in general, but the shmups are where it's at.

Used to collect comic books, architecture books and visual art books. Moved around too much to keep bringing it all with me, so it ended up with friends or online takers.

I collect CDs and vinyl records. I also like to collect old original Yugioh cards, the ones from around 2002-2005 or so (yes, laugh all you like I know I'm a dork).

At one point when I was a kid I also collected gem stones, and various other types of rocks. Aragonite, in particular.

I also have a sizable amount of Doom related paraphernalia.

Edit: More specifically furry porn.

Makes two of us!

I also collect sixth generation console games. Retro games in general, but sixth generation in particular.

I collect obscure horror comics, cd/vinyl, band patches/buttons and random vintage action figures mostly from the 80's. Also, I have a collection of hot sauces as well. Mostly because I have this weird fascination with matching a hot sauce flavor with a certain group of food.

Memories. All of them. Oh, yes ... or rather my brain does that, even though I never wanted it. I wish I could forget anything and not be presented with it from time to time or when I see something related to whatever it was but no my brain with photographic memory has chosen to torment me. Even when I sleep I can not get away from the pain. It's hard to not hold grudges for months and maybe years and have doubt when your brain for the 3rd time presents convincing arguments by way of a painful memory for why you should or should not. I've learnt to pretend to be stupid to not scare people by saying or asking about things they said 7 months ago that right then is on the tip of my tongue.

Over the years I've come to realise why people start to drink. I was never really introduced to alcohol in any serious way so that's at least something. I read that memories can swim.

Speaking of JRR Tolkien and the Inklings somewhere in this murky hole I have the full set of C.S Lewis's Narnia. Not in English, however.

(The Inklings were a literary group that JRR Tolkien was a part of. It's more than 2 years since I read about his connection to that group but my brain presented me with this forgotten memory and connected it to C.S Lewis who also was a member and and his books about Narnia and then connected it to an other forgotten fact that I own the whole translated set because I saw an other copy of one of the books when I was visiting a relative last week. That I have whole set of Narnia books didn't occur to me at that time which is ironic and however very unusual for me) All this happened in an instant when I wrote "JRR Tolkien" in this post. Speaking of the devil.),

Bah. I take umbrage to calling a digital library a 'collection', but that's a matter of opinion I suppose.

Personally I collect fourth, fifth and sixth generation video games and consoles, specifically Sega platforms. I also have a huge collection of keys and padlocks. A small action figure/toy collection, and a music collection comprising of over 400 or so CDs.

I collect toys, namely Star Wars merchandise/toys and Jurassic Park, though I've also taken to collecting whatever catches my eye, like the Quake II toyline from ReSaurus and some other Dinosaur toylines, such as CollectA and Safari Ltd. figures. I have a bunch of odds and ends, and also a number of things related to Gunsmith Cats, such as the action figures and some big resin statue of the main characters.

I also collect guns when I have the money (A recent thing, though), vinyl music for the artwork, CDs of whatever I like, Michael Crichton books (Such as the all the cover variants), VHS movies, and yah, I have a lot of porn too.

Here we go, this is an old-ish photo of most of my carts. Have tons of DVDs and CD based games as well, but this is just a basic idea of what's there

I used to collect video game consoles, but not anymore. It just got too expensive for me. A few are still lying around here, though, such as my Atari 7800, the TI-99/4a, Genesis model 1, and an Atari Jaguar, among others. I sold my Neo Geo and TG-16 :^(

I did start collecting Warhammer 40K figures, though, a few years back. Not all of them are painted yet, and the ones that are painted are all from different Space Marine chapters, but that's just because I couldn't decide what chapter I wanted to use. Now I have my own, so yeah, hopefully I'll have an army to play with soon.

Yep, my folder of suspicion.

Nah, you're doing it wrong. In that folder you need to have one named "Other", then one named "Stuff", then a hidden folder named "temp", with a series of random numbered folders in there that have at least 3 folders deep of empty folders in those. The one secret folder, which you memorize the number to, goes at least 5 folders deep. In that one is a folder that says "Mom please don't click".

It's rather a matter of availability. Ignoring PCBs, most of the shmup OSTs I own have never been released on a "physical medium", for lack of a better term, so there's no CD/DVD whatsoever to be found anywhere. Even on events like TouhouCon or the likes you're not gonna get them on disks. There are only a few exceptions which usually occurred when things got released on disk for X-BOX releases, and those are few and far between.

And rename all files to whatever.INI.
