Kontra Kommando Posted February 18, 2017 I'm using the assets provided by Lex Safonov's version of Alien Trilogy (TC). He was able to extract the assets. Basically, I'm making a version of Aliens: The Ultimate Doom, but with Alien Trilogy graphics. https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=53700&p=978357#p978357 Thus far, I've converted all of the enemies to the game. They behave like the monsters in Aliens: the Ultimate Doom. Moreover, I've added more blood and gore to the death states. All the weapons have been converted as well. I still need to add more content to the game before I can release it, but check out the video, and pics below. //Pictures 0 Share this post Link to post
JohnnyTheWolf Posted February 18, 2017 Neat! I remember trying Alien Trilogy on PS1: I thought it looked cool, but I did not like the controls nor the level design. 0 Share this post Link to post
Killer5 Posted February 18, 2017 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFfffffff.... This is amazing. Will definitely keep my eye on this! 0 Share this post Link to post
roadworx Posted February 18, 2017 dude, this looks freakin' awesome! it actually reminds me of the original alien movies, and the opengl lighting just adds to that. can't wait for more pics! so, is this gonna replace certain textures, so that you can load it up with megawads and stuff? 0 Share this post Link to post

I agree, it was very difficult as well. There never seemed to be enough ammo. roadworx said:dude, this looks freakin' awesome! it actually reminds me of the original alien movies, and the opengl lighting just adds to that. can't wait for more pics! so, is this gonna replace certain textures, so that you can load it up with megawads and stuff? Yea, you will be able to convert any wad that uses vanilla textures and assets. Here's a play through video 0 Share this post Link to post
JohnnyTheWolf Posted February 19, 2017 I do not think enemies should be spawning - or be able to fall - in areas where they cannot reach you, like the acid pits at the beginning of E1M3. I am also bothered by your continuing use of audio samples taken straight from the movies, especially those where you can easily hear the original soundtrack in the background (e.g. the Predator's death laughter). Why not use more sounds from the Aliens Versus Predator games? 0 Share this post Link to post
Summer Deep Posted February 20, 2017 JohnnyTheWolf said:Neat! I remember trying Alien Trilogy on PS1: I thought it looked cool, but I did not like the controls nor the level design. I thought the original game was okay when I first played it on the PS1, but found it pretty tedious when replaying some levels more recently. The darkness was a real issue, and I think all three boss fights were identical. The pics from this forthcoming conversion do look very promising though. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kontra Kommando Posted February 22, 2017 Here are the warrior rotation attacks sprites. The original game never had rotations for the attacks, because there wasn't any in-fighting. I utilized existing sprites as a foundation to create these edits. Some sprites, like the 5 frames (aka back frames) are recycles of unaltered existing frames, but rearranged to mimic the frontal frames. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kontra Kommando Posted February 28, 2017 Here's an example of the wall textures I've assembled from the original alien trilogy patches. For Doom 2, the sky texture will be replaced by an heavily edited version of the cut screen from Alien vs Predator (SNES). Sort of reminds me of blade runner. 0 Share this post Link to post
