Dragonfly Posted March 31, 2017 ^ Takes me back to my childhood. Both of my parents were big fans of The The. Thanks for posting that. :) Another song that takes me back to when I was incredibly young: 3 Share this post Link to post
everennui Posted March 31, 2017 I like The The a little bit, but I love that song. I only found it a few years ago, but I remember seeing them mentioned in some sort of NIN promotion years ago. I think may have downloaded some as long ago as Napster, but it wasn't Slipknot enough for me at the time. Reminds me of a beautiful song. Quote A sad fact widely known The most impassionate song To a lonely soul Is so easily outgrown But don't forget the songs That made you smile And the songs that made you cry When you lay in awe On the bedroom floor And said : "Oh, oh, smother me Mother..." No... Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring La... The passing of time And all of its crimes Is making me sad again The passing of time And all of its sickening crimes Is making me sad again But don't forget the songs That made you cry And the songs that saved your life Yes, you're older now And you're a clever swine But they were the only ones who ever stood by you The passing of time leaves empty lives Waiting to be filled (the passing...) The passing of time Leaves empty lives Waiting to be filled I'm here with the cause I'm holding the torch In the corner of your room Can you hear me? And when you're dancing and laughing And finally living Hear my voice in your head And think of me kindly No ... Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring La... No... Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring Do you Love me like you used to? Oh... Rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring, rubber ring La... You're clever Everybody's clever nowadays You're clever Everybody's clever nowadays You are sleeping You do not want to believe You are sleeping You do not want to believe You are sleeping You do not want to believe You are sleeping I'm very eclectic in my musical tastes, but 80's Alternative Pop is always in my rotation. I really wish I had the time to figure out my midi issues, read about sound fonts find a decent midi controller and find an intuitive DAW so that I could experiment with some music for my mod. 0 Share this post Link to post

Remilia Scarlet Posted April 1, 2017 @everennui haha, well I do have a music collection that's about 153 gigs, minus what I've never ripped from CD, so there's bound to be a few gems in there occasionally. 2 Share this post Link to post
everennui Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) I know I have at least 200G. I now have an 8G iPod, but I used to have a 160G and I still had a lot of music that I couldn't fit on it. Most of it is sub 200kbs because when I ripped them size was a concern. I could probably get rid of some of it, but I don't like to get rid of music, and a lot of my CDs are scratched. :( I take better care of my things now. Edit: I should have just said 192kbs, but there are admittedly some lower than that. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted April 1, 2017 ^ Nice and chill, could totally fit into some kind of advert or silent cartoon. 0 Share this post Link to post

In fact I'ma listen to it now, so I guess it counts for this thread. :P Oh nice, love me some TFN, one of the better aussie rock/metal bands for sure. Edited April 1, 2017 by sirjuddington : might as well post a song too 0 Share this post Link to post

Nice, not heard this band before. I'm about 5 minutes in and still enjoying it. I'll probably check out more after this song. Before listening to the above I had just found this on Youtube. Looks like Arch Enemy have finally got some decent competition when it comes to female fronted metal: 1 Share this post Link to post
Nine Inch Heels Posted April 2, 2017 I'm so fucking tough. I'm so fucking tough. That's right! (Dethklok - Face fisted) 2 Share this post Link to post
ShoDemo Posted April 2, 2017 Currently listening to these two a lot: Such a dark song from Dio. I was surprised when I first listened to it and the Dehumanizer album. I was used to the classics only (Paranoid, Master of Reality, Heaven and Hell, e.t.c.) This one I recently found out and although it is about an Irish folk song or something with a videoclip of lesbians, I enjoy its riffs a lot and it is a fun cover by Metallica. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dragonfly Posted April 2, 2017 There's a new one coming out? I've been out the loop but PLEASE drop a link here when it comes out. On topic, Forty-six & 2 is one of my favourite songs, and this fan made music video using Pan's Labyrinth clips works REALLY well. :) 2 Share this post Link to post

When I was younger, I worked with food at an amusement park in the Ireland section. Often times I'd be outside grilling up shrimp and watching a group of musicians/entertainers perform for an hour here and there a few times a day. Among the songs they played was this, though of course more like the original folk song than Metallica's cover. Good song, if a little Gaelic ;p 1 Share this post Link to post
