deadnail Posted August 6, 2001 AS WELL AS any error information it reports when it starts up. That's probably the most important stuff you can tell us if you really want us to help you get it going. =P 0 Share this post Link to post
AngelOfDeath Posted August 6, 2001 it has windows 98. There was no error message it just stoped responding every time. 0 Share this post Link to post
deadnail Posted August 6, 2001 Stopped responding? Did it load then freeze when trying to start a game? Does it freeze right when it is loading? Be more specific. Tell us about your version of Doom. Where it is installed. What version of ZDoom you're using. How you installed it. The whole deal... one of us has probably had a similar problem. 0 Share this post Link to post
Zaldron Posted August 6, 2001 The whole deal... one of us has probably had a similar problem. /me bets $500 on Zeratul. 0 Share this post Link to post
AngelOfDeath Posted August 6, 2001 Ok its doom2 version 1.9 ZDoom version 1.22 i installed the dos version of doom on my c:\Games\ drive then unzipped zdoom into that directory. when I start zdoom it sounds like its loading but it only gets to a black screen where you should see the quake like loading. after a few minutes I press ctrl alt del it says not responding next to zdoom. The reason I think the problem is zdoom is because I Can run more advanced games like hexen 2 and quake 2 just fine, but not ZDoom. 0 Share this post Link to post

ShadyXMR Posted August 6, 2001 The only problem I've had with ZDoom is not getting all the files unzipped into the directory. Sometimes if you don't have Windows showing you all files, even hidden ones, you may not copy all the required files. But you said you unzipped it in there, so that may not be a problem. 0 Share this post Link to post

deadnail Posted August 6, 2001 He's talking about the console displaying settings information and loading status as it starts Godammit. So you installed Doom to C:\Games? That's kinduva loose folder. I would've put it in C:\Games\Doom instead, and made sure ZDoom was in the same place. Maybe that's what you did but you didn't specify as such. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted August 6, 2001 Could be graphics problem, open zdoom.cfg and set this line set vid_noptc "1" 0 Share this post Link to post
AngelOfDeath Posted August 6, 2001 It's in C:\Games\Doom2 I tried the noptc 1 same Problem What does that mean are there more than just 0 and 1? I hope I dont have to use Doom 95 0 Share this post Link to post
