Lila Feuer Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) http://steamcommunity.com/id/m1s0s/recommended/2280/ This is my 15th review, I've also covered other games like Wolfenstein 3D, Heretic and Hexen, the Carmageddon series and so on. E: DOOM II review uploaded! http://steamcommunity.com/id/m1s0s/recommended/2300/ Edited June 15, 2017 by cyan0s1s 4 Share this post Link to post
GarrettChan Posted June 13, 2017 Hi, fellow Level 41 gamer ;P Nice and thorough review of the game. Well, talking about mapping, I guess there's no reference back in the day, and people can't or shouldn't be opinionated because they have nothing/little else to compare. Sandy's mapping style has been an interesting topic for a long time. His maps either make people extremely like or hate, in my opinion. For example, I hate the crap out of E2M6, but there are players saying they absolutely love E2M6. Anyway, I really like "Doom will never die, only the players." Great punchline. Now I should go and read your other reviews. 1 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted June 14, 2017 Well-written piece, which brought me plenty of nostalgia for the original game. Kudos. "... the game would've featured a much more detailed storyline, multiple player characters, a hub level system that predated Hexen, and a number of interactive features..." Alas, what might have been. 1 Share this post Link to post
Lila Feuer Posted June 15, 2017 Thanks ReX! Also I just finished the DOOM II review. Mind the personally expanded story section as I felt the need to pad the review out a little so it wouldn't be too short. 0 Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted June 16, 2017 I read through your DooM II review, and enjoyed it almost as much as your DooM review. While you clearly put a lot of effort and imagination into the back-story of DooM II, I felt that you might have been belaboring it. Still, a good read. 1 Share this post Link to post
Lila Feuer Posted June 17, 2017 Heh yeah, I enjoy writing so that doesn't surprise me. Thanks for the feedback! A Final DOOM review will be available in the future also. 0 Share this post Link to post
geo Posted June 17, 2017 You seem to have typoed "3." at the end of your Doom 2 review. 0 Share this post Link to post

Lila Feuer Posted June 17, 2017 My rating system: 5 - perfect game (recommended). 4.5 - near perfect game (recommended). 3.5 - very decent game (recommended). 3.0 - passably decent game (recommended). 2.5 - passably bad game (may or may not be recommended). 2.0 - bad game with little to offer (not recommended). 1.5 - very bad game with very little to offer (not recommended). 1.0 - abysmal game with no redeemable value whatsoever (not recommended). 0 Share this post Link to post
Osama Bin Karl Posted June 17, 2017 Holy shiz I would never have the patience to write that long of a review unless I'm really bored. So congrats! Also it is a great review that details every aspect of the games that is needed to know if you want to make a informed decision if you want to buy it or not. I think more reviews should be like this because sometimes it is just hard to decide whether or not to buy a game because the reviews out there are just to vague or are indecisive about if they like it or not. Keep up the good work! 1 Share this post Link to post
Lila Feuer Posted June 20, 2017 Alrighty, the final review (I don't feel like bothering with Master Levels) for classic DOOM is up, appropriately with Final DOOM: http://steamcommunity.com/id/m1s0s/recommended/2290/ 0 Share this post Link to post

I especially liked the subtle humor ["The old UAC was refounded under completely new management (what with the previous owners being all deceased this wasn't much of a problem)"] 1 Share this post Link to post
