Mega Man Maker

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna really hate seeing this inevitably get shut down by Capcom. Should have waited until the release date before promoting it. This looks better than Mega Man Universe.

One immediate issue I see with this is that Mega Man levels get a lot of there memorability from what the other levels don't have. Bosses ( both midbosses and the robot master, and therefore the weapon obtained afterwards ), level gimmicks, enemies, look, etc. This was the same except issue that Mega Man Powered Up faced, and while it was fun to mess around with that game's level editor, playing the actual maps others made felt pretty ... same-y.

Of course, that game also didn't let you mix-and-match ... like at all, which is kinda shooting yourself in the foot in something like this. So in the very least, even if it falls into the same issue it'll probably take longer to do so.

There have been a few of these. Usually in GameMaker. One of the engines was open source so a few standalone games have been made and thrown onto Steam with different art... minus the level editor of course.

This one with the video you've shown looks better than the rest. One of them I know of has a lot of clutter when making a level.

You know what I mean. I thought Capcom finally made a good decision in regards to Mega Man.

Saw the title and got a little excited thinking this was a real game.
