Favorite weapon?

I was having a bad day, nothing was going my way...

I couldn't wait to get my pay ‘cause it was quite late.

Sat at my desk, waiting for the bell.

As soon as it rang I let out a yell.

Just that day everything was going wrong,

as each problem happened, the day became real long...

I went to the “playground” to find my friend,

its only been two days since I’ve last seen him.

Always makes me feel like I'm on a vacation,

always there to give me a good sensation.

600 cells to hang out with my buddy,

but I don't care, ‘cause its worth the money.

He always makes me happy, never makes mad

He can make me feel great, even when I'm sad.

So if you're looking for my friend he will be next to me,

‘cause he's a blast field generator called BFG.

That's right, this poem is not about a person,

it's about a big fucking gun called BFG...

The shotgun, with the double-barreled one a close second.  It feels so good to pump demons full of buckshot.

Actually, it's a tough choice....kinda. SSG, shotgun....BFG...decisions, decisions.

The SG & SSG in Doom is quite unique, Both very good in feel and functionality. I've got to go for the Rocket Launcher though, I love good projectile weapons, and the way the gib and death physics are it feels so good together.

The Shotgun.

Especially in DM because everyone uses the SSG and if you keep your distance you can win with it a lot.

I also like using the shotgun in certain encounters of single player, too. Everything becomes a little more scary when you just have one barrel. A revenant fight with a shotgun in the right situation can feel very tense.

The Plasma Gun is my favorite weapon followed by the Super Shotgun. 

I liek chainguns.

Budda-budda-budda.

Either way, feels like a perfect hitscan weapon. Pummels away, not too quick yet not too slow. Uses "common" ammo, keeps away monsters. Plus it is the most mysterious weapon in the arsenal. Why? Go ahead, and tell me in which direction do the barrels spin.

The crusher.

Shotgun. It feels satisfying to use and has good feedback. 

Shotgun, it never fails me. This guy simply helps me to kill boneheads at great heights.

obviously the shotgun. the sound it makes, the power it holds, the hypnotic animation everytime you fire it... it never gets old.

SSG. Been my favorite in every Doom game (except Doom 1, shotgun close second). Never fails to leave me satisfied when it drops another demon :)

Monster infighting

Serious answer: plasma gun, due to consistent damage/stunlock most of the time on just about everything, plus the occasional zombie gib that can result sometimes.

Telefrags and chainsaw, because nobody likes chainsaw. I often use it on cyberdemon for laughs and challenge. 

I'm just a happy cyberdemon :D

BFG all day baby. Makes short work of just about any threat. Still a very unique gun to this day too!

I am a super shotgun fan, that gets my vote, the chaingun is pretty great though almost got my vote.

Rocket Launcher for Rocket jumping, and SSG for everything else pretty much! With BFG being the absolute glory weapon in Doom, so that too!

Toss-up between the SSG and the RL. I like the plasma rifle too because of its awesome firing sound.

Very tough to choose - the SSG and the RL are both very strong contenders - but in the end it has to be the BFG, primarily for the oddball mechanics.

Plasma rifle, because rapidly turning your enemies into a red heap of shit is very amusing to me.

BFG would be my second, probably because it's the only gun in a game that I know of that has the word "fuck" in there...

There really is no contest, because clearly the Super Shotgun wins this poll. 

While every weapon has a time and place to be used. I'll go with chaingun.

I wonder who voted the unberserked fist and why.

The BFG wins me over, especially with knowing how to use it properly and you can devastate everything in the game with the least amount of cell usage.
