Regenerating monsters?

Has anyone experimented with regenerating monsters? Any ZDoom mods or anything at all? It could be a neat way to force the player to be more aggressive. Like, once you start shooting at a monster you want to keep fighting so that you don't just waste ammo.

I haven't tried it, but I bet it can be done. You can give a monster any powerup, and regeneration is one of the powerup abilities that Decorate allows.

They can be done with acs or Decorate\zscript. People won't really notice it unless it has a significant amount and a graphical indicator.

I tried in Quake as an alternate for the zombies. They could be killed with any weapon, but had rapid regeneration, so you'd need to concentrate firing on one of them at a time with low powered weapons.

This thread has inspired me to rewrite the Arch-Vile so that when it dies it resurrects itself and then splits into three Arch-Viles, infinitely.

Perhaps as annoying as a regenerating pinky or perhaps even the IoS as it exists in Map30.
