Write Doom 4 Codex/Serious Sam Netrisca- style flavor text for the classic weapons and monsters.

Title. Feel free to apply your own headcanon into the text. I'll start.

Pistol

The Beretta M9 has been the mainstay UAC sidearm for almost three decades. Reliable and accurate, it's 9mm rounds are decent for last-resort self defense against most human assailants. It is, however, designed for portability first and foremost, and thus is vastly outclassed in combat by most long arms, and going up against strong resistance with it is not recommended by UAC military experts.

Shotgun

The pump-action Winchester Model 1300 has been the standard-issue shotgun for the UAC since 2034. Using 12-gauge ammunition, it is extremely effective against enemies at short ranges; however, it can be ineffective for firing at long-range targets. Recommended for use in close quarters combat.

Aw, only one guy has jumped onto the bandwagon. Well, anyways...

Chaingun

The UAC's answer to their troops' repeated complaints of their automatic weapons rapidly overheating in the thin atmospheres of Mars' moons. Much of the Chaingun is built from titanium and various plastics, making it much lighter than its bulk suggests. Multiple barrels allow the weapon to fire for long periods without overheating; rumors exist that once a single Chaingun managed to fire for twenty minutes straight without problems. The weapon fires a single 2-round burst before rotating to the next barrel, allowing good accuracy with short pulls of the trigger. Continuous fire, however, generally results in the spinning of the barrels and the weapon's recoil causing accuracy to suffer. Chainguns are chambered in 9mm Parabellum ammunition, a relic from when the UAC supplied their troops with MP5 submachine guns as standard issue. Thousands of UAC troops across the Solar System swear by this reliable workhorse of the UAC armory, although concerns about its effectiveness against beefy targets have risen in the war against the demons.

Zombieman (aka Former Trooper)

An unfortunate member of the UAC low-level security forces whose body has been possessed by hellish spirits and now fights for the demons. Low-level security in UAC outposts are issued with semi-automatic 9mm carbines, which, while much less effective compared to most UAC firearms, are still decent self-defense weapons. Most demonic spirits are fortunately not very good shots and will usually not be able to hit the broad side of a barn if it was punching them in the face. Zombiemen also don't have much in the way of armor and can be put out of action with a few handgun rounds. Magazines of 9mm rounds can often be acquired from their cadavers. Picking up and using the carbine they have is not recommended, since they, in the words of a senior UAC officer, are frankly total crap.

Revenant

The Revenant is a powerful and dangerous adversary. It is unknown how long the legions of hell have deployed these creatures into battle, based on reports from the first Mars incident the lone survivor of the event did not encounter any both within the UAC's bases or within hell. Their creation is believed to be rather recent, as they were quite common during the invasion of Earth. They sport dual rocket launchers with accurate homing capabilities and are reported to be capable of a high-impact punch. Tests done on Revenant corpses reveal technology not much different from the specefications of a secret military project known as Operation: Seeker based within the Deimos facility, the UAC revealed the existence of this project shortly after these findings were published. It is likely that the demons found and reverse-engineered the technology for their own purposes, unfortunately all blueprints and data concerning the homing missiles were lost and the UAC refuses to allow anyone to reverse-engineer the Revenant tech. Analysis of the Revenants' skeletons themselves reveal that they are actually created from a mish-mash of various species fused together. Imp, Pinky and Baron of Hell bones have all been identified in the same corpse, leading to some speculation that they are in fact reanimated drones likely created within a hellish 'factory' out of parts of dead demons, after the bones have been mostly picked clean, of course. Flynn Taggart has reported that he was able to easily dispatch any Revenant with two well-placed point-plank super shotgun blasts. The Revenant is to be considered a powerful and dangerous enemy and should only be engaged by the most skilled of the UAC Marine Corps.

I would like to see this thread keep going!

Mancubus:

These large and obese monstrosities have were first seen by humans during the invasion of Earth, so it is unknown if they existed prior to hell's forces discovering the UAC's technology. Mancubi weigh upwards of 4000 pounds, and have numerous layers of skin and fat which makes them a pain to kill with anything less than a shotgun. They use two large flame cannons, believed to be of UAC origins, to fight. Each time they see a target, they fire a volley of six fireballs in varying directions, as to make their attacks harder to dodge if their target hasn't figured out the pattern. UAC tests on Mancubi show that they have six stomachs, each filled with gas toxic enough to kill an entire team of scientists. (Although the UAC did not publish that part of the report). Said tests also showed that the cannons were welded into their arms by human techniques. According to the few surviving troopers who have seen them, Mancubi and megaspheres bear a great resemblance.

Mancubi eat their fellow demons for no reason other than fun or boredom, and they tend to eat in a ravenous, disgusting manner. Pinkies are their favorite food, but they have been known to eat imps, Hell knights, and sometimes even decaying corpses left on a battlefield, even if it is weeks or months after the battle. Occasionally Mancubi get high (in a loose sense of the term) by eating dead archviles. They prefer to live in wide open spaces and enjoy the company of arachnotrons, because they tend not to eat arachnotrons. This is due to the high metal to meat ratio in an arachnotron, so the mancubi don't bother trying. It would take them over two hours to suck all the brain meat from the robotic chassis, and brain meat tends to make mancubi sick.

Arch-Vile:

Also called "Archies" or "Those fucking stupid yellow-belly shitholes" by soon-to-be-deceased soldiers, Arch-Viles are among the highest ranked demon encountered by humans. Not deployed to Earth until Spiderdemons and Cyberdemons proved innefective, these lanky beasts are one of hell's most valuable assets. They are the only demon to be seen practicing magic, unlike the Spiderdemon which can allegedly do it in a pinch, but it has never been officially seen by anyone in the UAC. Their magic is twofold: they can revive dead monsters and they can incinerate their enemies. UAC tests confirmed that their powers come from weak telekinetic signals, which is why their powers only work on a subject that is within their line of sight. The best thing to do against a vile is to just hide and hope it won't find you. Also, other monsters will not retaliate if attacked by an Arch-vile, suggesting that they have some sort of (un)holy significance to the lesser demons.

Their appearance is unlike any other demon we've encountered. While most demons are either colored in a dull/subtle way, or with a lot of red or brown, Viles are a brilliant yellow. It is possible that they are not demonic at all in origin, and are instead fallen angels whose bodies haven't yet changed. They make noises different than any other demon, and upon death, even utter English by saying "WHY!?". Regardless of their strange attacks and coloration, and their possible language skills, they are still one of hell's most dangerous beings, and are not to be engaged alone.

This is so much fun! Filling in nonexistent background information is just awesome!

Arachnotron

Often dubbed as "Mini Masterminds" by the marines who face them due to their uncanny resemblance of the much more formidable Spider Mastermind, these creatures are believed to be relatively new to the legions of hell. They generally consist of a large beach ball-sized brain mounted on a hydraulic four-legged chassis. Attached to this chassis is generally a plasma-based weapon not unlike the UAC's PlasmagunTM series of weapons, suggesting that after the Mars Incident the demons found and modified many PlasmagunTM weapons for their own purposes. The four-legged design is most obviously a scaled down version of what was featured on their Spider Mastermind cousins. However, while the Spider Masterminds' chassis is clearly manufactured for the demons who operate them, the chassis of the Arachnotron appears to be constructed of parts re-purposed from other non-related units. One example found in the aftermath of Earth's invasion used hydraulic cylinders identical to those found in the average UAC manufactured forklift. This has lead many to believe that the Deimos base was likely cannibalized after the Mars Incident to provide materials for the new designs being utilized by the demons. What's more, DNA samples collected from Flynn Taggart's boots shortly after he defeated a Spider Mastermind have been found to be nearly identical to DNA collected from Arachnotron corpses. In light of this information the UAC reviled that they had in fact commissioned a research facility on Deimos dedicated to cloning and were only successful in cloning brain tissues by the time of the Mars Incident; leading to further speculation that the Spider Mastermind that Flynn Taggart defeated in hell before returning to Earth was originally the only one and all subsequent Spider Masterminds or Arachnotrons are clones of that original entity. Despite the bulky and stiff appearance of the chassis and legs, the Arachnotron is a quick opponent that is more than capable of catching up to its opposition. While it fires hot plasma, it is not as powerful and has a slower rate of fire than even the cheapest of the UAC's PlasmagunTM models due to the haphazard construction of the firearm. Like most demonic enemies, only the toughest of the UAC's Marine Corps should engage an Arachnotron.

Chainsaw

The C-96 is a multi-purpose chainsaw, with various blades giving it purposes like felling trees, cutting extraterrestrial rock samples, and, under recent circumstances, pulverizing demon flesh. A small energy cell in the body of the chainsaw gives it up to 6 months of continuous operation. Cutting into a demon is regarded as highly impractical, but the tremendous pain resulting from having your flesh torn to pieces has a tendency to make certain demon species stand stock still in shock.

Berserker PackTM

Originally developed as a sort of successor to the classic emergency adrenaline injection to the heart, the Berserker PackTM contains all the supplies needed to fully heal any wound regardless of severity; hence the UAC slogan, "No matter how deep your wounds are, if you're still a' kickin' you can survive anything with the UAC's Berserker PackTM!" The UAC refuses to reveal how their most advanced and controversial healing kit is manufactured or what it contains, claiming that it is no different from a secret chocolate recipe and to prevent inferior knockoffs from flooding the market, endangering the health of potential users. In spite of the UAC's attempt to give their product a good reputation, many people have reported extreme rage and physical strength after use. Flynn Taggart himself has stated that he often relied on Berserker PacksTM during the Mars Incident and subsequent Invasion of Earth, going so far as to claim that he could literally beat demons into nothing but a pile of blood, guts and bones with one or two punches after using a BerserkerTM, the effects of which lasted about twelve hours! Due to these findings, coupled with reports of some people dying of an exploding heart after use, many believe that the contents of the common Berserker PackTM may contain as much as 90% steroids, with some going as far as to claim that the UAC may be using synthetic hormones based on samples collected from demonic test subjects before the Mars Incident for their Berserker PackTM product line. Due to their controversial nature, many hospitals now refuse to administer them, claiming that they do not want any patients to become addicted to them. Regardless, the UAC is still able to sell Berserker PacksTM on the open market and claims that sales have only gone up since Earth's Invasion in spite of a vocal minority's attempts to shut down production.

Little and large.

Imp

One of the most common and ubiquitous of demons. This creature, nicknames the Imp by UAC forces, has a highly distinguishable dark brown, leathery skin, and has multiple horny spikes covering it's body. The spikes tend to grow on areas like the elbows, shoulders, and other joints. The Imp's leathery skin gives it a low amount of resistance towards low-caliber bullets, but anything bigger than a handgun will generally put it down within a second. Often found alone in cramped areas, or in large groups outdoors, where they have been witnessed doing menial tasks for higher-echelon demons.

Cyberdemon

Half unfeeling machine, half raging horned monster. The Cyberdemon is one of the most widely feared of all demons. As tall as a two-story building and often weighing upward of eight tons, this beast has been known to shrug off volleys of tank fire and still devastate defensive lines singlehandedly. Even worse is it's cybernetic parts, packing a rocket launcher, a cybernetic leg, and other enhancements. This enhances it's toughness and allows it to keep pace with the fastest of marines despite it's bulk. Despite their markedly artificial nature, Cyberdemons are treated like demon lords by their subordinates. The stomping of it's cybernetic hoof strikes fear into the hearts of many marines, but allows brave ones to easily detect them.

"Pinky" Demon

The Meatshield, the Cannibal, and the ironic Delicacy, the "Pinky" is alongside the Imp in terms of infamy. Even those who have never seen a battlefield know of the Demon's ravenous appetite and knack for being the first to arrive in a populated area before other forces. The Demon's hunger is second only to the Mancubus, but the "Pinky" has speed and a giant maw to act on it. The hunger is not human-only as well, and the demon is often seen eating as much of his comrades as humans in a crowded setting. This seems to be a retaliatory action, as a demon will only begin eating others once it has been fired upon by other hellish allies. This may be an ingrained survival reflex, as it is a common site to see any breed of monster dine on a fresh "Pinky" corpse. Even marines stranded without rations and forced to eat demons have admitted they are succulent, with a taste of sweet barbecue and steak. The "Pinky" is called "Pinky" because it is quite """Pinky""". Moving on from trivia to more strategic information, the Pinky's jaw has roughly 2.4x the power of an alligator's, and can bite with this force at a quick rate. Marines usually survive a stray bite with only flesh wounds and damaged armor, but allow it to attack more than once and you'll be missing an extremity, or a heartbeat. Demons are infamous for 3 reasons: how common they are, their hunger and speed, and meatshield status. If other demons are careful enough and do not fire on the pinkies, the Pinkies can literally form a wall and the other demons hide behind them, throwing the occasional fireball, until the pinkies ravage whatever impeded them. Several cases of Barons commanding Pinkies to form a Brigade have been reported, with little to no survivors on the recieving end. Pinkies can take about twice the damage of an imp, which means an extra shotgun pull, which means a few more seconds for the pinky to race towards you and rip you apart. If you can ambush them or if you encounter them in a large area, they are little threat. But when they are consolidated in close quarters, you Will need heavy weaponry (or a chainsaw). Strangely enough, the Pinky's entire body locks in place when chomping, and their intellect leaves something to be desired, so crafty marines have discovered that rushing into a pinky, then retreating will catch it in some sort of somatic loop, in which it will be stuck until you decide to give it a mouthful of something other than you. This technique is actually being taught to civilians with some success. There is a rumor that whatever's in a berserk pack (hormones, steroids, demonic energy, etc) can sometimes attract Pinkies and Imps, explaining the common appearance of a closet full of Pinkies and Imps next to a Berserk pack. There is a sub-species called spectres, but those will be covered in a different report. Pinkies are commonly used for teleport ambushes as well as meatshields, so if there's something valuable close-by, prepare for the worst. Overall, the Pinkies are reportedly the 1# killer, due to their massive numbers and power to overwhelm, not power or intellect. By the same logic, Pinkies are likely the 2# highest in casualties, next to Imps. Given the chance, they can easily kill any human, but it is very easy to refuse them that chance. Just about any weapon other than the handgun or shotgun is suited for dealing with any number of Pinkies, although one must be cautious while using a rocket launcher as Pinkies are also known for leaving a crowd and running straight through your blind spots. Even chainsaws have been proven quite effective, putting the monster in throws of pain before it can manage to bite you, but you are bound to take a chomp or two if you are surrounded. All in all, as long as you know where they are and it isn't right in your face (and you have anything other than a pistol), Pinkies are easily dispatched and avoided.

Gotta practice for those college essays somehow, right?

Cacodemons:

Cacos are large round red blobs of demon flesh that float around an area and attack by spitting ball lightning at their foes. Their appearance is often described as more jokey than scary, and many soldiers have died laughing. They hiss like a snake that got hit by a car when alerted, and they make a strange gurgling sound when they die. Their mouths are larger than that of great white sharks, and inside them are hundreds of teeth, and many organic electrode structures. These structures, according to UAC findings, can produce balls with power up to 10000 volts. In the final days before Earth was attacked, scientists kept many cacos in tanks with conductive walls, and used them to power their laboratories, with plans to use their organic electrodes as a form of alternative energy someday. After cacos were first encountered, all marines got their armor padded with plastic on the inside as to lower the damage of caco balls, but the heat can still knock a healthy person half to death.

Their flotation is believed to be caused by a conductive gas that aids in their electric attack. The gas is held in sacs behind the caco's  mouth and is released when they prepare to attack. Their vestigial tentacles show, however, that they were not always flying demons, and that they evolved from something else many centuries ago, possibly from the same ancestor as the Pain Elementals. Their blood runs blue and their eyes are a deep green, and when coupled with their red bodies, makes them an easy target to spot. They can be taken down in a few shotgun shells, and their low tolerance to pain makes them ideal targets for the chaingun and plasma gun as well. It is not recommended to take them on with a handgun, but it can be done with patience and a good hiding spot. It is also not recommended to take on a group of them, as they can surround you given the chance. A hit from a powerful weapon, like the rocket launcher, can send them flying backwards and possibly out of range, so it is not ideal to use one against a caco in a open area.

Lost Soul

Lost Souls are believed to be the lowest ranking demons and are generally also the weakest. Because they practically vapourize upon death, it is impossible to study a Lost Soul's corpse. It is commonly believed that when a Lost Soul is "killed", it is not truly dead and will materialize again somewhere deep within hell. It is not known how they are created or what the purpose they serve within hell is, as most demons at least appear to serve some sort of societal purpose within their home dimension. It has been speculated that the Lost Souls may in fact be incarnations of the damned, that is to say, they are the literal souls of persons who were nonredeemable when they died. Be it from our dimension or somewhere else entirely. During the Mars Incident, Flynn Taggart claims to have encountered many Lost Souls after he made his way to the Deimos base. It is important to note that the Lost Souls have an almost symbiotic relationship with the Pain Elementals. Whether or not this relationship is positive for either species is not known. Lost Souls will attack almost exclusively by charging at its opponent, and once the Lost Soul has begun charging it will not stop until it hits something, be it the intended target, a wall or a bullet. Lost Souls are not generally believed to have much intelligence as they will not adjust direction if its target happens to move out of the way, comically colliding with other objects to no effect. Individual Lost Souls are almost never dangerous on their own and can be taken out with ease regardless of the armament used. It has been reported that a Lost Soul was once taken out with a single punch from a twelve-year-old defending his younger sister. Unlike most demons, civilians are not discouraged from engaging individual Lost Souls, and the UAC has even provided aluminum baseball bats engraved with "Lost Soul Killer" to civilians that can prove that they have defeated a Lost Soul. However, while not dangerous individually, civilians should never engage more than four Lost Souls at a time as larger groups can be a sign of more in the area and perhaps even a Pain Elemental lurking around. If large groups are encountered, call 677 (the UAC's civilian emergency hotline) immediately and get the UAC to deploy a platoon of Marines to clear out the infestation.

Pain Elemental

Pain Elementals are closely linked to the Lost Souls for reasons that are still unclear. Similarly to Lost Souls, they vapourize upon death and are therefore impossible to study the internals of the creature. They appear to be closely related to the common Cacodemon, except for the presence of arms, brown colouration instead of the red-blue patterns seen on a Cacodemon and the fact that instead of firing orbs of electricity they shoot Lost Souls from their gaping mouths. It is believed that their flotation mechanism is not much different from that of a Cacodemon. As no successful dissections have ever been performed on a Pain Elemental, much of their inner workings are simply assumed to be similar to those of a Cacodemon. Pain Elementals were never encountered during the Mars Incident, and did not appear until the Invasion of Earth. Much like the Lost Souls it is not known what useful function they serve within hell. Many speculate that if the theory of Lost Souls being in fact the incarnations of the damned is true, the Pain Elementals are likely the wardens and punishers of the Lost Souls. One Marine who stealthily entered hell during the Plutonia Experiment to study the dimension in a more peaceful situation claimed that he witnessed a Pain Elemental repeatedly spewing Lost Souls so that they could be used like a volleyball by a group of imps, when one Lost Soul was destroyed, another was released to take its place. It was reported that a Baron of Hell eventually noticed the commotion and slaughtered the Pain Elemental and several imps in anger, suggesting that the imps' little game was not appreciated by higher caste demons. This anecdote serves as evidence to a theory that perhaps the Lost Souls are meant to be tortured for entertainment and Pain Elementals are simply used to store and transport them. In combat, a Pain Elemental will regurgitate Lost Souls in quick succession in an attempt to overwhelm its opponents and protect itself. If not taken out quickly, a single Pain Elemental will fill an entire area with so many Lost Souls that it can become impossible to move. Pain Elementals have an ironically low pain tolerance, and if attacked faster than it can spew Lost Souls it is possible to stun lock the creature before it can spawn any Lost Souls. When killed a Pain Elemental may release one to four Lost Souls so it is advisable for a marine to continue firing their weapon as to take out any final Lost Souls. Unlike the Lost Souls it spawns, civilians should never engage a Pain Elemental and it is recommended that if one is encountered, civilians should flee the area and report their sightings to the UAC immediately.

Shotgun Guy (aka Former Sergeant)

Possessed UAC soldiers wielding standard-issue shotguns. These zombies have been christened Sergeants by UAC marines, after a shotgun-toting commanding officer was the first to turn on Phobos. Despite the name, many of these zombies are simply generic grunts that have been possessed and picked up shotguns. They, like the former troopers, aren't very good shots with their shotguns, but the spread of the weapon makes them an actual threat to most marines. They drop their shotguns upon death, providing resource-starved marines with a new weapon or small amounts of ammunition.

Chaingunner (aka Former Commando)

Possessed UAC soldiers wielding standard-issue chainguns. These beefy zombies began to show up in large numbers during the invasion of Earth due to the great popularity of the Chaingun among the marines there. Analysis of killed Commandos has revealed that the demonic spirits controlling them have triggered the release of excess testosterone, driving them into a rage and causing them to fire wildly at targets non-stop unless they move out of sight. A pinned-down squad of marines once used a spare uniform and helmet to trick a group of Chaingunners into wasting all their ammunition on a decoy, allowing them to escape. Like the other zombies, his accuracy is mediocre at best, but the large amounts of bullets fired from the Chaingun ensures that at least one will hit their mark. Finding cover and using it to your advantage is recommended. Dead Chaingunners drop their eponymous weapon, giving Marines a new weapon or providing small amounts of ammunition.

Baron of Hell/Hell Knight

The Baron of Hell and Hell Knight are among one of the most common varieties of the middle caste demons. The two are grouped together due to the the extreme similarities between them. Many claim that they belong to the same species, with some less reputable sources stating that the Baron of Hell and Hell Knight are simply just different genders. Said sources provide little to no evidence to back up these claims beyond how similar they appear and their differing colouration; it is important to note that like most demons, extensive studies of their physiology have been conducted and no sexual or reproductive characteristics of any kind have ever been identified on any specimens, be it Baron of Hell, Hell Knight or any other species of demon (aside from the 'former human' category, but as those are literally possessed humans sexual characteristics are expected to be present). Barons of Hell were encountered frequently during the Mars Incident, primarily in the Deimos base and within hell as one would expect. Hell Knights did not appear until the Invasion of Earth and were found in larger numbers than the more powerful Baron. Behavioral characteristics are shared between the Hell Knight and Baron of Hell, and both will react almost the same way in battle. In combat, both will produce and throw identical orbs of flaming green plasma, the strength of which is generally the same between the two. When engaged in melee, both will attempt to rip their enemies apart with their extremely muscular arms. On the battlefield each is easily identified by their hoofed feet, fur covered legs, bovine-esc facial features, hairless torso and arms that is either reddish-pink for Barons of Hell or beige-brown for Hell Knights. Like most middle caste demons, a super shotgun or better is recommended when engaging a Hell Knight or Baron of Hell. Flynn Taggart has reported that he was able to kill a Hell Knight with a minimum of three point-blank super shotgun blasts while a Baron of Hell may take up to seven. While even the freshest of recruits are seen as capable of handling a Hell Knight, only experienced marines should engage a Baron of Hell.

The Spider Mastermind

Brain Bug. Big Bitch. Usurper Horror. K'Reahr Vash'Taik. (Kr-rear vosh-tech)

The Spider Mastermind.

Flynn Taggart is the only person to ever encounter it and survive. Luckily, he has supplied its corpse for UAC research to study. Although much more information was garnered from research about demons in general than the dissection of its corpse. In fact, the only things that the dissection of the corpse revealed was it had an even larger intellect than we predicted, the prosthetic assault chassis was added after the start of the mars invasion, and the arachnotrons are simply imitations, with no familial link and sloppier construction. With hell destroyed, several daring scientists dared the barren, hostile wasteland through failsafe portals that the Spidermind itself created. These portals run on an argent cell and have no shutdown, meaning they will only stop when they run out of power 2 years from now. The only attempt to shut one of these down resulted in a small singularity with over one thousand casualties. Luckily, it seems all of the demons' traps were sprung on earth and hell is now just a vacancy. The culture of hell is a strange one. The fact that hell has a culture may be surprising to some. Devout religion is as much of a necessity here as it would be in heaven. Satan and his Vassals demanded constant praise and worship. But it was revealed that there was a prophecy, stretching back to the early days of creation. That Hell would spawn its own downfall. A powerful demon would challenge Lucifer's rule with a grandstanding. A great spider would weave its web around Hell and earth, but a single vanguard would rip the web open and destroy all evil beyond. This prophecy was lost even to the demons, and was found almost on a whim as a large stone platform freshly washed up on a lava shore caught one of the researchers' eye. Upon further investigation it was a giant tablet, detailing a cult that kept this secret while nurturing the demon to overthrow hell. They found their answer in K'reahr, the master of deceit and betrayal. In hell, the spidermind was a large, wriggling, fleshy mass with its signature head at the front of its nearly mile long body. The rest of its body was detailed as more of a thin membrane covering the ground, staying true to its spider destiny. The cult approached it with a plot to become the new ruler of hell. K'reahr would've betrayed its very nature if it were to refuse. It knew of the prophecy that the cult attempted to hide, and was determined to instead surpass it, ruling both earth and hell. It is said that the cult members were eventually unwillingly turned into doppelgangers of the spider mastermind. In fact, much evidence points to the invasion of earth as a defensive measure by the Icon to make sure K'Reahr did not gain a foothold on earth, as to avoid hell falling to the prophecy. This theory is supported by the fact many new demons appeared on earth and none of them were seen on mars and its moons. This may have been actually playing into the Mastermind's hands, as it seems no effort was made by it to ever invade earth. The Mastermind may have simply seen the defensive measure and waited for either the demons or humans to win, and slay the weakened winners. To its credit, its whole plan was working out wonderfully. Both earth and human forces were wearing thin, and the entire deimos base was quickly overtaken, with phobos looking to follow. But to the tablet's credit, word quickly spread of a lone marine rippin' and tearin' straight through the strongest points of the mastermind's defensive measures. The mastermind left previous installments entirely barren of troops to throw them directly in the marines way. But the spider mastermind was quite sure that even all of his forces could not stop the destiniy of the prophecy. But the prophecy never spoke of the spider and the vanguard meeting. The mastermind was weak, lacking the inherit power of even a hell knight, relying solely on the power of intelligence. But no longer. The mastermind would use the humans' crude technology as a base for a grand weapon. He invented a battle chassis and, for lack of understanding, a shotgun chaingun. A Gun that shot out rings of bullets at an alarming speed that could make short work of anything at any range, with infinite ammo and no cooldown. But even this could not stop the doom marine. With the power of plasma weaponry hidden from even the mastermind, the surprise damaged the mastermind more than the white-hot ordinance. Although it is unclear if this one was the real mastermind or a decoy, as mentioned before. Even after the invasion, it is still unclear if the real spider mastermind is out there or in one of our research centers. We can see that Lucifer himself has tracked down several of these decoys and employed them in his forces as punishment. In the terrible event that one would encounter this creature, DO NOT ENGAGE. One obvious flaw with the spider mastermind, Flynn explained, was that it was locked in place while shooting. This means it is good at keeping forces under cover, but not so much at eliminating them. In true mastermind fashion, it relies on underlings to take advantage of the trapped marine. If there is a route for escape, hide behind cover until it moves to get a better shot, then dash to the next cover, and repeat until you reach safety. Although, this has not been put into practice as few people have ever come in contact with these monsters and literally none have ever told the tale apart from the DoomSlayer himself. The mastermind can take a lot of hits, a small amount less than the cyberdemon itself. Plasma weaponry is the only recommended weapon, the experimental BFG9000 being ideal for this situation. Often marines scoff at the mastermind's combat capability compared to the rocket-toting cyberdemon, and the two are commonly equated as the "Big Bads". It is often concluded that the spider mastermind created the cyberdemon as the last word in pure combat prowess. The cyberdemon excels at destruction and instant death against massive armies, while the mastermind, in combat, prefers personal encounters with a small group of enemies. This must be stressed: DO NOT ENGAGE. NOTIFY MILITARY HIGH COMMAND IMMEDIATELY AND FALL BACK.

Biggest boss, Biggest entry.

PlasmagunTM

The UAC's PlasmagunTM series of weapons has become one of the fastest growing weapon brands in known history. First conceptualized in the mid 1990s, it took over ninety years for a successful prototype to emerge. Relying on technology only the UAC is capable of producing, it is built more like an electromagnet than a standard firearm. The primary ignition chamber is composed of a lead-magnesium alloy to both contain the plasma itself and its harmful radiation. When primed, the weapon injects astronomically small amounts of pure hydrogen into the ignition chamber and then proceeds to subject it to the same high temperatures and pressures present within the sun. These conditions transform the hydrogen from a gas into the plasma state. When the trigger is pulled, the hydrogen plasma is induced to fuse into pure helium and then expelled.

In addition to the superior firepower provided, the UAC simultaneously solved the world's helium crisis! Using the same standard energy cells as the common UAC manufactured car, the PlasmagunTM is both easy to use and easy to recharge!

Thanks to the ingenuity of the UAC's top scientists, a special coating for the projectiles was developed that would prevent the harmful radiation emitted from the plasma from harming anything other than the target it was fired at, keeping both user and the general environment completely safe[1]. Due to the fact that the amount of hydrogen used during the fusion reaction induced is so minuscule, it is only capable of emitting enough energy to maybe raise the surrounding temperature by a few degrees at most[2]. The PlasmagunTM series of weapons has become so popular among both marines and civilians alike, it is no wonder that the demons had to catch us off guard[3]!

[1] Small amounts of radiation may leak through this coating if the applicant system is not functioning properly. Do not modify or attempt to repair without proper authorization and licensing. Do not use around children, women of reproductive age, pregnant women, small or large pets, large bodies of water, microwave ovens, cathode ray tube televisions, non-military grade radio transmitters, cell phones, clay sculptures, wood, metal other than lead, etc. For a full list of things to avoid, see pages 400-567 in owner's manual.

[2] May emit more energy if plasma coating is not properly applied. If plasma coating is not properly applied, results may include: cancer, bubbling of the skin, melting of the skin, severe rashes, sterilization of both the user and others around them, radiation contamination of nearby water sources, spontaneous combustion of nearby flammable materials, etc. For a full list of warnings and possible side affects of dangerous exposure, see pages 568-894 in the owner's manual.

[3] The demons probably did not need to catch Earth "off guard" to overrun the planet, that probably would have happened anyway.

I hope I got my plasma science accurate here, I kind of guessed how plasma works as a state of matter. I do know that it is very hot and dangerously radioactive!

Stuff.

Love it. It's like a satirical commercial for the Plasma Gun.

Rocket Launcher

After UAC troops complained about their weapons' ineffectiveness against lunar rebels, who had somehow managed to hijack main battle tanks, a development project into a personal artillery weapon was started. The fruit of this project was the XFMG 59, designed to let the average squad effectively engage heavy armor without the need to call fire support. It's lightweight 125mm anti-armor rockets allow many of them to be stored in your average military backpack, while still containing a warhead containing a delivery of powerful plastic explosives and a steel core. UAC military experts recommend direct hits, which allow the white-hot steel core to penetrate the target, devastating the innards of armored vehicles and demonic monsters alike. One of the most popular artillery weapons among the UAC earth defense force due to it's ease of use and brute efficiency against hordes of weak demons and larger individuals. The only downsides are that the weapon is rather heavy due to the rocket loading mechanism, and firing the weapon at close obstacles can cause great injury to the firer. A powerful beast, but can be hard to tame.

Light Amplification GogglesTM

The UAC's Light Amplification GogglesTM, or L.A.G.TM for short, is the next phase of night vision technological evolution! Unlike earlier iterations of night vision, which primarily relied on shining a dim green light and then having a screen up the brightness from a camera (at least that is how the scientists of the UAC assume they work, they've never touched an old pair of night vision goggles in their lives!), the L.A.G.TM relies on reflected ultraviolet radiation to produce an image that makes all surfaces look as if they emit the same amount of light as a stadium's spotlights! When the goggles are put on, they instantly begin emitting ultraviolet rays in all directions. When these rays are reflected back microscopic sensors covering every outer surface, the device reads how much of the original radiation output was reflected, using this information the L.A.G.TM constructs a perfect image that perfectly represents what a location would look like it it were perfectly lit in all areas! Due to the fragile nature of the microscopic sensors themselves, they tend to slowly break down once activated. If too many sensors become inoperable the L.A.G.TM will automatically shut down to prevent further damage and will not reactivate until the damaged sensors are replaced. The UAC has given up on trying to fix this issue and has instead recommended that potential users buy in bulk.

Super Shotgun

The usage of double barreled shotguns in the UAC military began as a fad among higher-ranking officers looking for a classier alternative to your standard personal defense weapon. During the demon invasion, however, it was found that a person with sufficient dexterity could fire and load two shells simultaneously in succession. UAC military experts claim that this is a completely impractical gimmick and should only be attempted by the most skilled of marines, or better yet, not at all. This weapon is slow due to completely manual reloading, but packs one hell of a punch.

Holy hell! We've done all the monsters except one!

Specter

Due to the extreme similarities between the Specter and the Pinky, most agree that they should be considered the same species. The primary difference between the Specter and the Pinky is that while Pinkies are expected to pink, Specters are 90% invisible. This invisibility makes them much more difficult to study, as this invisibility extends to their entire anatomy, making proper dissection nearly impossible as it is difficult to distinguish different organs. Some theorize that Specters are simply Pinky demons who have somehow managed to consume large amounts of invisibility spheres. Behavioral traits are generally considered the same as those within the more common Pinky, though Specters tend to dwell in darker locations to complement their invisibility. They possess the same general skills and strengths of the common Pinky, their only true advantage being their invisibility. If Specters are believed to be in the area, civilians should notify the UAC and evacuate the suspected location; Marines are more than capable of taking down a specter if they have a shotgun or better.

Flynn Taggart, AKA Doomguy, AKA Our Hero, AKA The Only Survivor, AKA Hell's Bane, AKA The Ultimate Badass, AKA The best of the UAC Marine Corps, AKA The honorary citizen of every country on the planet, AKA [insert 400 alternate titles here]

Flynn Taggart has become the most famous person in modern history, not because of some awful pop song that only dumb people like, not because he was in some terrible movie only dumb people like, not because he became one of the most powerful people on the planet in spite of having no qualifications for the position, but because he has saved the human race from the conquest of hell seven times* by himself with little to no backup!

Stationed on Mars as punishment after punching his commanding officer in the face for commanding him to open fire on civilians, Flynn Taggart is believed to be the only reason the human race has not gone extinct. After a distress call led his squad to the Phobos base, Taggart was stationed outside as he was not yet allowed to engage in combat. After hearing every member of his squad get picked off one-by-one over his radio he decided to disobey orders and venture inside. He then proceeded to, in his own words, "rip and tear" his way through Phobos before making his way to the Deimos base and defeating the first Cyberdemon encountered. After finding that the entire Deimos moon had been transported to hell itself, Taggart made his way to the surface and proceeded to "rip and tear" his way through hell's "arse" (once again, his own words). After tearing the Spider Mastermind in charge a new one, he found a portal directly to Earth.

Upon his arrival he found his pet rabbit, Daisy, mounted on a stake while the UAC's main star-port burned in the background. Enraged by this discovery, and not understanding that the planet was overrun at this point, Taggart went on a rampage through the star-port. After brutally slaughtering half the demons in the star-port, Taggart discovered that the star-port was not the only location on the planet overrun by demons, and resolved to do everything possible to save what was left of the population. After fighting his way through the rest of the star-port, Taggart was able to set the remaining functional ships to an automatic "search and rescue" mode that enabled them to seek out any living humans they could find and teleport them on-board before entering orbit where the new occupants could take direct control and chart their own course. Not reserving any space for himself on one of the ships to leave room for more survivors, Taggart was ready to accept death believing that no more could be done. Before death could find him, however, one of the ships radioed him with information regarding the location of the primary portal to hell which for some reason, was within his home town. Fighting his way through the twisted city, he found the portal in the centre of it and finding no way to close it on the outside, entered hell again so that he could put a stop to the invasion once and for all. Within hell, the demons already knew who they were dealing with and so they fought back with much more ferocity than they had the first time. In the end, Taggart defeated he legendary Icon of Sin and managed to close to portal.

Taggart has claimed to have used more Berserker PacksTM within a one week period than the maximum number advised by the UAC for twenty fit, active young men in a single lifetime. He has both gone up and down in popularity over the years, the former usually happening ironically just before another attempted invasion from hell and the latter usually being the result of him saving the planet again. At the age of 54, he still resembles a 32 year-old man and shows no signs of slowing down due to his age. After the UAC was dissolved and the UAAF was formed, Taggart briefly worked as a high ranking member of the UAAF's inner circle before someone had him ousted due to concerns over how Berserker PacksTM affect the psychology of persons with severe PTSD, which he then proceeded to redeem himself from after stopping another demon invasion.

Flynn Taggart now lives in his rebuilt hometown where he constantly trains to keep his physical shape in case the Earth needs him to stop another demon invasion.

BFG-9000

A heavy energy artillery weapon intended to be mounted on armored cars, it is nontheless still light enough for marines with above-average strength to carry if needed due to it's extensive use of synthetic materials and usage of lightweight UAC energy cells as ammunition. The HPBC-9000 is nicknamed the BFG by marines, due to it's ability to easily match the power of a howitzer battery in a man- and vehicle- portable form. Upon pulling the trigger and a brief charging period, a large energy ball is fired, and upon contact with a target transfers all it's energy into the target, dealing massive damage and often blowing the target apart and frying it's insides at the same time. After the ball hits, the gun emits a strongly charged energy wave out of the barrel. This serves to eliminate excess energy that could cause damage to the weapon, to cool the weapon down, and to destroy anything in the general vicinity of the front of the weapon. This combination of factors allows the HPBC to eviscerate strong individuals and large hordes with equal ease. This weapon was in limited production before the invasion, and finding one is an rare blessing to any marine platoon.

Oh no this thread isn't dying yet!

Nazis

At one point in time during the Invasion of Earth, Flynn Taggart claims to have somehow been transported into a dimension inhabited mostly by SS Nazi soldiers. This is one of the odder things that Taggart has said about his exploits, and many call into doubt the legitimacy of these statements. Some speculate that this place is in fact a pocket dimension within hell while others believe that this was simply just a dream created by Taggart's sub conscience as a response to the extreme stress he had undertaken at that time. Taggart reported that the Nazis he encountered were terrible marksmen, practically unaware of how to rapid-fire their antique MP40 sub-machine-guns, all wore the same blue-coloured uniform without any way of telling their ranks, could barely speak any German only uttering a few phrases and were taken out with ease. Taggart also stated that no matter which direction they were actually firing in, they always appeared to be shooting at him despite the bullets hitting other targets. The locations that were described sounded very similar to the infamous Castle Wolfenstein that a supposed ancestor of Taggart had to fight through during World War II. Whether these Nazis were real, dreamed of or completely fabricated is unknown as there have been no reports of any further encounters with them before or since the Invasion of Earth.

We may have gotten all the monsters and weapons but we don't have all of the items or any locations yet!
